    Hey Steve,

    I may be missing something… I saw in a previous forum post where I could go in to .php and make certain fields required. Started rummaging around in there, and it looked like First Name, Last Name WERE already required (as was Organization).

    However, in testing (logged out, in a different browser) I have submitted multiple Forms with neither name or email on them.

    Here is the shortcode on the page:
    [connections_form logo='true' default_type='organization' select_type='false' category='false' messenger='false']

    How can I make sure that selected fields ARE required, especially Name, email, and phone number?

    Maybe in a future release there can be a simple tickbox next to these fields in settings, or something in the shortcode, that elects Required structure? Just some thoughts.

    Yes, the first/last name are required if submitting an individual and org name is submitting an org. If that is failing, likely another plugin is loading after Form with overly broad selectors removing the required class. What’s the link to you Form test page so I can take a look?

    Requiring an email isn’t possible unless the email sections is rewritten to be a static form field rather than the the dynamic repeatable field.

    When I redo the form part of the code to support the forthcoming custom metabox and fields API adding “required” support is at the top of the list.

    Ah. OK, I was looking to make Name fields required even on an Organization. I want to capture the info, even if I choose not to display it on the page.

    I have Organization as the default structure, and, YES, in that setup it does preclude a submission if the Organization field is empty. So it does work based on the way you created it. I just wanted to make Org, Name, email and maybe phone required fields on ALL submissions (or at least have the ability to select field to be required – doing so via shortcode would be great, as you could elect different required fields in different form usages).

    You could alter the cn-form-user.js so it doesn’t add/remove the required class when making the entry type selection on the first/last, org names. It would not get you the email/phone.

    If you wanted to be really, really clever … you could go to you page add a phone and email field, copy the page source from the Chrome Source Inspector pasting it over the code in the connections-form.php file. You’d have to make sure to stop and stop the PHP interpreter using the start/stop tags before and after the pasted HTML code. You would then have to remove the add/remove buttons in the pasted HTML and finally add the required class.

    Sounds like a lot, but with a little trial and error, probably an hours worth of time.

    Ha. You lost me at ‘clever’ :)

    I’ll look at the cn js, but not going to deep dive into the other. I have a premium wordpress forms plugin that can do what I want already, but I bought yours too because I liked the interface with the database. However, the inability to require selected fields would preclude me from using it in this application. I’ll just hope that some of these features get built into upcoming iterations of your plugin.
