GuestI’m using WordPress 3.6.1, my theme is Avada 3.1.1 and Connections 1.1.2.
Within the footer of my theme I’m using a generic “Text” widget to embed a short-code from the WP RSS Aggregator (3.4.1) which pulls blog information. When I first load our “Directory” page (which is Connections) the footer and blog information is as it should be. However, if I use the drop-down menu to select a category (such as Uncategorized, or Human Resources, or whatever) the name of that particular category gets “populated” into the blog information within our footer.
This may be hard to understand without a screenshot. If you want, I can send you a before and after screenshot.
Thanks in advance!

could you instead share a link to your directory so I can see first hand the issue? Thanks!

GuestHi Steve,
Unfortunately, the site in on an intranet and not publicly accessible. Would you like a screen shot?

GuestHey Steve,
Any thoughts on this?

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I have more in my queue than I do normally. If you can post a screen shot, I’ll definitely take a look. I’ve never run into this before so I am honestly lost on what is wrong and how to fix it.
Can you temporarily remove any of the items from your footer to see if the issue resolves itself? If you can and it does, that at least should narrow down what the conflict is so I should be able to hopefully replicate and provide a solution.

GuestHi Steve,
Thanks for the reply. Sure, I can disable the items and send a screen shot. I don’t see an obvious way to attach a screen shot via this forum. How would I do that?

After you login using the user/pass you created during your purchase you’ll be able to attach uploads/screenshots.

ParticipantHey Steve,
Here are 3 attachments. The “before” attachment shows the footer when the page first loads. This is how it should be. The “after_1” and “after_2” attachments show what happens to the footer once I make a selection from the Connections drop-down menu.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Ok, the screenshot helped a lot. I’m able to replicate the issue … not sure how to fix it … but I can replicate it.
Not a fix, but this will prevent the issue. Go to the Connections : Settings admin page and uncheck the
Page Titleoption under the SEO tab. That will prevent the title from being filtered prepending the current category.10/21/2013 at 2:17 pm #271939Charles McPadden
ParticipantAwesome – that fixed it.
I really appreciate your help and really love the product!
Blessings,
Charles
