ParticipantHello,
I just purchased the full dev package to use widgets and premium themes and I have a problem with thumbnails. The only images showing up are with template=”card” but with template=”tile” it’s not OK. If I ask to display the image in another window I get :
A TimThumb error has occured
The following error(s) occured:
Could not find the internal image you specified.
Query String : src=/wp-content/connection_images/Hacker_Dominique_original.jpg&h=130&w=100&zc=1
TimThumb version : 2.8.11I disabled plugins and Genesis framework but the problem stays. I suspect the problem comes from the thumbnail config… I cannot give you a link to the site because it’s within an intranet.

The issue is almost certainly due to the DOCUMENT_ROOT not being properly determined.
Add the following to the timthumb-config.php file found here:
../wp-content/plugins/connections/includes/libraries/timthumb/
This is what you need to add, make sure to change the doc root accordingly:
define (‘LOCAL_FILE_BASE_DIRECTORY’,’/my/doc/root/’);
What ‘/my/doc/root’ will be, will depend entirely on the server setup. If you go to the the Connections : Dashboard admin page and look at the the System widget; there will be a constant named CN_PATH. The doc root should be the beginning portion of that path. What I can tell you is that from the wp-content on will NOT be part of the doc root.
Hope that helps; let me know.

ParticipantHi Steven
The modification of the timthumb-config.php worked fine for the local install with the line :
define ('LOCAL_FILE_BASE_DIRECTORY','/BitNami/wamp/apps/wordpress/htdocs/');Maybe you should but that in your FAQ…

ParticipantHi Steven
I’m just reporting that when I moved my site from my local install to the production server I had further problems with thumbnails. Of course I modified the timthumb-config.php with the proper path (/opt/bitnami/apps/wordpress/htdocs). But the problem came from the rights to the connection_image, connection_template, and cache directory. The rights were 755 but the owner was not the same than the original install of the LAMP and WP. To solve that I put 777, not very safe but cannot otherwise I would have to redo the install.10/21/2013 at 11:44 am #271923Steven Zahm

that would be due to how the server user/group permissions are configured. There’s not really anything I can do about that, sorry. I recommend using 767 rather than 777 though. It is a bit more secure.
