GuestHello,
I just checked my Google Webmaster Tools and the Directory has caused loads of 404 errors, for example, I get the below error in various amounts of repeating “25” and it results in at least 50 404 errors on Google Webmaster Tools:
http://dogsized.com/directory/locality/New%252525252525252525252525252525252525252525252BYork/feed/I’m also getting these errors for every entry in the directory:
http://dogsized.com/directory/name/petropolis/feed/You can see that all of these errors end with /feed/
I’m not sure what’s causing this. I’m happy to send you screen shots if you let me know where to send them.Appreciate your help!

Hmmm, looks like WP is adding the feed link to the page head. I’ll either have to remove that link some how or make a feed version of the entry available. I’ll try to get this addressed in the next update.
The repeating 25 is odd and can’t figure out how that would even be possible. I’ve logged it as an issue to to see if I can track it down.

KeymasterThanks. I needed to confirm that I was looking in the right spot in GWT. The %25 is the URL encode for a percent “%” sign. What is the exact name entered in Connections for the Monastery Coffee entry?
Two things, when I release 0.7.9, this will be resolved as I’m just going to make sure WP doesn’t output the /feed/ endpoint on Connections pages. There’s nothing output there anyway. Although, annoying, this doesn’t hurt your SEO. But I’m certain I’ll get to the bottom of it.

ParticipantIn the organization name i’ve put: Monastery Coffee
Is that what you are looking for?

KeymasterThanks! That does help a lot. I know what the exact issue is now. Somewhere in the code I’m double encoding the URL. That is causing the the what appears to be repeating 25’s. I’ll hunt that down in the code and make sure the URL is only encoded once. This will make the 0.7.9 release scheduled for release in the next week or so.

KeymasterGuys,
The issue is not what I thought it was. For some reason, your sites end up in a redirect loop. That is what is causing this. I can’t duplicate this. Since these are the only two reports so far. I’m thinking this is very limited. I’ll need a temp admin account from the both of you so I can see what you have in common and who it differs from my production and test sites.
On the plus side, in version 0.7.9, the 404 crawl errors with
/feed/is resolved. -
