ParticipantIs there an option for displaying a list in a collapse state which can then be expanded from the page

ParticipantAlternatively, how do I set the list to display say 5 result then have more pages for the rest of the results. like London Tango does

ParticipantI found the pagination options which work fine. However, I will be applying categories_in shortcode to restrict this results. i would like to maintain those category setting if the site user selects another category from the drop-down. I’ll be using your codes to only display categories from a route category in the drop-down but I think it’s going to wipe out the original category settings isn’t it?
Example:
I might set categories_in “1,2,3” to create the list, user then selects Category 12, so I need Connections to apply 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 12 to the results. I suspect it will display results for “12”If I am right, Is there a way around this please?

The London Tango site is using the cMap template. for paginated results. Pagination is only support by several of the premium templates. Is that what you mean by; “displaying a list in a collapse state which can then be expanded”? Or do you mean something more like what Slim Plus offers?
Re your, example…
I believe the results with settings
category_in='1,2,3'and a user selecting a category would result in a list showing the user selected category not limited to entries categories1,2,3and the user selected category. Not knowing what your category structure… maybe something like this FAQ is the solution.

ParticipantHi Steven
No, collapsing lists was my first idea, before I found the pagination feature. My problem is this:
I add a list for example [connections category='1' ], which displays the results nicely. The site visitor then uses the category drop down and the list displays all results from the directory matching the category they selected, ignoring the fact that category 1 was set in the pre-categorised list. i want the results to be category=’1′ and category=’user selection’. I hope that makes sense
The practical example is that the list shows exhibitors on a specific event page. If the user adds another category, they want to see results matching their selection who are exhibiting at the pre-selected event
Hope that makes sense

I do understand. I can not think of a solution other than turning the drop down into a multi-select drop down then users would be able to choose an arbitrary number of categories. Its similar to using the
category_inshortcode option.05/22/2014 at 5:22 pm #291925Steve Jones
ParticipantHi Steve
Can you remind me how to display list results open or with the list collapsed?
