GuestHi!
I am very sure you have what I need but after some time looking around your site, I am not sure what set-up I need? If you can bear with me, hopefully you will recognize what elements I will need to buy.
– I am making a directory of about 200 organizations. These can all be showing on the one page in a long list.
– I would like a text search field at the top.
– I would like to be able to filter (or jump to) the entries with A B C D > Z letters at the top.
– I would like each entry to be collapsible revealing two stages of information. 1) Standard name, address and contact details. 2) ‘More details’ should reveal further customized field information. These fields will be the same for all entries, so would have to be ‘hard-coded’ or changed somehow from your standard field selection. E.g. the list of key roles in the organization, the corresponding name of each (Chairman: Jane Doe, Treasurer: John Doe etc, and their address and contact details (or is this asking too much?). It would be great if we could structure this info rather than having to resort to Manually writing it all as ‘Biographical info’ using a heap of shortcode (columns). See what I mean?
– And lastly, be able to change the layout of the shown entry from the align left on left column, and align right on right column, to two columns both align left.
As far as the look of the entries, I have downloaded Connections and made an entry using the default template and it presents very nicely matching the typography (except for the all-caps, but I suppose that isn’t too difficult to change :) ) and styling of my site. http://test.skanefriidrott.org/foreningar/
Sorry for the long post. You have so much to choose from I couldn’t work out what I need.
Cheers, Petter.

Sorry for the delay. The holiday has slowed things down a bit, but I’m catching back up. I’ll address your questions point by point so hopefully I do not miss anything…
I do not recommend showing a real long list as that would make the page slow to load. Being paginated would be best, however, if you choose a template that paginates the list, they all include an option to turn that feature off.
Search is included on many of the premium templates which include cMap, Market and all the *Plus templates. cMap is the most popular, if that helps.
It sounds like Excerpt Plus is close to meeting your requirements, although, you would have to alter the template, card.php file, to have it show the info that you would want shown in the “first stage”. The role, or title, of the individual can be entered in the title field within Connections. The title in Excerpt Plus would be shown right under the name, by default, nothing to edit.
Excerpt Plus is left aligned by default.
So, if I understand correctly, Excerpt Plus seems to come really close to meeting all your requirements. If you’re able to do some very minor PHP editing to the card.php file of that template, you would make the other slight tweaks you would like.
I hope that helps.
