ParticipantI just upgraded to the new version of Connections and I’m frustrated by something. In the previous version, I had all of my employees assigned to one category each. Those categories were all grouped into parent categories. If I selected the parent category from the drop-down, everyone who was assigned to a child category would appear. But the employees were not actually assigned to the parent categories, just the child categories.
Now with the new version, if I choose the parent category from the dropdown, I get no records. I have to choose a child category to get its employees.
I really liked the fact that I didn’t have to assign my employees to the parent AND the child category — the parent category association was just sort of automatic (and didn’t appear on their card, which seems redundant and is less aesthetically pleasing). Any way I can work around this?
If not, I at least just wanted to point out that I noticed the change and don’t like it! :)

Entries assigned to children categories should still be shown when the parent category is selected, that has not changed.
What is the exact shortcode you’re using?

Participant[connections enable_pagination=TRUE str_select='Select Department' str_select_all='Show All Departments' color='#005837' show_category=TRUE show_org=FALSE page_limit=50]I saved a copy of the entire connections plug-in directory before upgrading, and if I just replace the new directory with the old old, I get my desired functionality back.

Still works in my testing for me on 0.7.6.6. Can I get a temp admin account so I can take a closer look?

ParticipantI can’t do that because this is still only on my local server, it’s not on a live server yet. (That’s a whole other issue — when I tried to install it live I realized I didn’t have a current enough version of PHP, and now I do have version 5.3.10, but am still getting memory errors. Oy.)
I’ll come back to this when I get it up and running somewhere internet-connected so you can take a look. Thanks!
