ParticipantHow can current customers be notified of updates to your premium add-ons?
Some suggestions to help with managing premium add-on versions:
Add a feature to each the plugin so that when the plugin page is loaded it queries a file on your site to check for updates. I have seen this approach with other premium content and it seems to work well. I understand that the automatic updates are not possible, all I want in an automatic notification.
Post the change log with version numbers for each product on the product support site.
Include the version number next to the file in the download section of our accounts. As it stands now we have to download, decompress and search for and read a change log file to see if we have the correct product version.

All add-ons, this spring/summer will be receiving updates that will not only add update notifications, but in-admin upgrades as well. The in-admin upgrades, however, will be limited to a single site where the license key has been activated.
Later, the template system will be re-factored so they too are plugins and will also have upgrade notifications and in-admin upgrades.
I hope that is good news!
About half of the templates and add-on plugins do have their change log posted. They can be found at the very bottom of their respective product pages. I’ll go thru the remaining and add the change logs right now.
Adding the version number to the purchase history is a good idea, I’ll add that on my website maintenance to do list.
Thanks for the suggestions! They are always very, very welcomed.
