GuestHi
I am creating an directory of plant nurseries (about 80 member listings) and Connections seems to have most of it covered – however I need to set up a new field and have it included in searches
the field will consist of around 200 plant varieties (sorted alphabetically)
can you suggest the best way to implement something like this in terms of making it…
a. easy for the site viewer to search
one way I’d envisaged a page with the 200 plant variety links listed – each link would display a list of Members that carried that variety
or can you think of a better wayb. have the field content display on the members directory listing
c. easy for admin to adjust
if they were just entered by text separated with a comma or something that would probably suffice (and could probably, in the first instance, be imported via CSV) – once it is created it’s not going to need to be changed all that muchI’m not very experienced as fiddling with code but prepared to have a go!

It seems to me the best way to implement this would be to use categories for for the plant varieties. And if you need multiple category search, that is possible. See this site: https://sscit.org/ The “Find A Therapist” section. This is a custom multiple category search with zipcode radius search and keyword search which will work just fine with cMap. If you are interested, I can sell this to you for a reasonable fee which would include installation and configuration. Use the Contact link at the very bottom of the page for a quote if you are interested.

Guestthat looks great – given there are 200 or so species it is relatively easy to enter them all in the first instance?
also have sent a separate message via Contact Form for a quote
