It was actually the metafilter I was asking about. If there was a metafilter, you could accomplish what you want without the visibility feature, correct? I’d rather add the metafilter than the visibility feature because there is code to prevent unlisted entries from being displayed on the frontend. I’d rather not remove that safeguard.

Ha! the oddness continues. I can’t think of a single change that would have an effect on the settings or templates. But I’ll take it :D

After you login, on the forum pages, the login form on the top right changes to a “Welcome” area and it has links to:

• My Support Topics
• My Support Topic Replies
• My Support Topic Favorites
• My Support Topic Subscriptions

And a logout button.

The first link; “My Support Topics” will show all the forum topics you started.

That error is from WordPress. What you need to do is login to your site with FTP and navigate to this folder: ../wp-content/plugins/. In this folder you will find a folder named connections. Delete that folder. WordPress will now allow you to reinstall Connections.

ps. you could always use protocol relative URLs that way you never have to worry about it. All of Connections assets (CSS/JS) are loaded this way.

Sorry, I do not have an answer for you. My best guess is you were still connected to the old database and when you restarted, the connection was made to the new database. If you did not delete the old database, you should still be able to export that data and import into into your new database.

Does Connections showup in the last of activated plugins? Does the admin menu option appear in the left admin menu options?

Great to hear! If I may… I do suggest changing hosts. My current preferred host is SiteGround. Their WordPress hosting packages are actually quite good and when I’ve needed support, it has always been fast with actual solutions. I get nothing for referrals, I’m just a satisfied customer.

re: Connections interface does not allow for a choice of http or https. In fact, it doesn’t allow choosing an image from the Media Library. It only allows an upload from your computer. I tested this yesterday by adding a new image with the same results.

This is absolutely correct for only the logo and image upload fields. There is no need for you as the user to choose http or https, Connections will take care of that for you when displaying those two images. You can verify this. All the logos are infact being served using https.

The issue… the images in the notes fields that are giving you the mixed content warnings, those were manually entered into the text area of the notes field by either copy pasting the URL of the image or using the Add Media button and inserting the image from the Media Library. In either case, my previous reply is still the solution. You need to edit the URL of the image in the notes field to be https.

I have not received any email from you before today, this forum post and the duplicate message sent via the contact form. Were you perhaps sending email replies to the transactional email that says at the top; “do not reply”? If you were, then I would never see those.

I going to reply to this forum post and not the duplicate contact form message. That would be confusing for the both of us.

Unfortunately there is not really a way to do what you want out of the box. The only way to do this would be to implement the custom fields filter. Now, the only way that would work is if you added three separate checkbox fields for Member, Visitor, and Rejected Applicant rather than a checkbox group with those three options. The reason is how the data is stored in the db. Did you add the fields as a checkboxgroup field type or three separate checkbox field type?

As for actually adding this new feature to Connections, would you want to sponsor it which would include me installing it and testing on your site?

Sorry, I do not know of any live sites using this. Honestly, I do know if anyone is using it at all. I added it as a feature request many years ago. The maintenance of this specific shortcode option is from time to time I verify that it still works.
