    @ Wolfgang

The issue you are experiencing can only be fixed by the theme dev. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to fix it from my side. I’ll explain.

The update to WordPress 4.5 included an update to jQuery version 1.12. That jQuery update fixed a bug, the details of which you can read about in this post by the WordPress developers.

The theme in the themify.scoll-highlights.js file on line 64 and 189 has an error it its code which is the bug that jQuery 1.12 fixed which is now causing this fatal JavaScript error you’re seeing. This fatal JavaScript error is basically breaking Javascript throughout your site which means any plugin that needs it may not work.

I see your site is running version 1.6.7 of the theme and it seems the current version of that theme is 1.9.3 so they may have already have fixed the issue. So the solution is likely to update your theme. I recommend contacting the theme’s support.

I hope that helps! Let me know.

re: The listings seem to take up a lot of space and have a placeholder for an image. If I do not want to use images for my listings, is there a way to get rid of the image place holder?

Yes, which template is the question referring to? I ask because the free Default template and cMap both use the Template Customizer which can be used to turn off the image and its placeholder completely.

To do this, navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page and click the Customize button for either the Default template or cMap. The page will reload with the Customizer of the left and a preview on the right.

Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer. You will then see the Image panel. Click it. In that panel you can configure the image type to none and turn off the placeholder.

Click an entry name in the preview, any one will do, so click the first in the list. The preview will refresh. Now make you configure the image settings again (for this view).

Now you can click the Save and Publish button to save your changes.

re: I actually like the “Tile Plus” template because it is more compact, but can it be used without an image?

Yes, it can. However it does not yet use the Template Customizer and must be turned off with a shortcode option found here.

    The shortcode would be this:

    [connections image=none image_placeholder=none image_fallback=none image_single_fallback=none]

re: Does the plugin have the ability for businesses to “Claim Their Listings”

Sorry, no, not at this time.

re: sign in and change or add info to their listing?

Yes, you will need at least the Link extension and optionally the Form extension (to enable frontend editing).

Hope I have answers your questions thoroughly!

    Apologies for the trouble!

I checked the file name, it definitely should be cmap.zip. Likely the reason you are receiving the error from WordPress which is preventing the installation because it would actually overwrite the core Connections plugin which in turn would cause you a minor headache to fix. I suggest downloading the file again. It can be downloaded from your purchase history under the Downloads tab.

Make sure before updating that you first delete the cMap from the Plugins admin page, your data is safe when deleting cMap.

You can then install cMap again.

    Hope that helps!

re: I would also like the community to rate and write reviews on the service providers.

Sorry, no, there is no review and ratings extension for Connections at this time.

re: Better yet if we would see a TOC of provider categories

In the Widget Pack there is a category widget that you can place in the theme’s sidebar. This widget outputs a list of categories that when clicked will take the user to the directory home page filtered by the category that they clicked. They can navigate the various categories simply by clicking the link in the category widget. If you decide to use the widget, you should disable the category drop down on the template so they do not conflict.

Hope that answers your questions thoroughly!

Well, this is possible but requires some basic PHP in order to do it. Here are some links to other forum replies from me answering similar questions.

re: Just to make sure I understand how this connection works between the WP User profile and the Connections profile – the email address is the field that connects the 2 profiles, its that correct?

Yes, it is the email that creates the initial connection/link. After that link is established the email address will no longer matter. Meaning, the email can be changed and the in either the user profile or the Connections entry and the link will be persistent.

re: If I have profiles already set up in Connections I can create WP User profiles using the same email address then give members instructions on how to login via the Connections: Login Form widget.

Yes, that will work just fine.

Hope I answered your questions thoroughly!
