    @ Alison

Great to hear! Hopefully sometime next week I’ll release the updates to Form and Link which contain these fixes. You’ll be able to safely update because the updates will only be of the changes I’ve already applied to your site.

If you have a moment, I would truly appreciate a review as they really do make a difference. Many thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the feedback!

When I rewrite the manage page it’ll definitely be “pluggable” so I can add a column for the order.

Thinking about this a bit more, I think I will do this sooner than later because the up coming featured entry extension would benefit from a column and quick edit too. Making these bits of data instantly visible and quickly editable will be great assets.

I just now tweaked Gridder so you can add a link on a separate link in the excerpt text. Would that work for you? If it does, I can email you a copy of the updated template. Let me know.

    @ Anne

You need to have your users register on your site before they can login. You can use the built WordPress user registration page or a plugin that adds user registration. here’s a beginner’s tutorial on how to enable user registration.

Once a user has registered, they then will be able to login to your site with Login at which point Link will link the user account and Connections entry based on email.

    Hope that helps!

Ok, I did find and fix a bug. Take a look to see if everything seems right from your perspective.

I also made a tweak to the one code snippet I gave you, the back/cancel link when editing an entry. I believe that it is more inline with what you really wanted it to do. Let me know.

    I hope that helps!

Sorry, no, changing that would require having to edit the PHP of the template.

re: But in the top level “Manage” view it does not work with “Simple Page Ordering” or presumably similar drag and drop plugins (which offers drag & drop ordering of pages or posts or other list view mode)

Right, this is because Connections does not use a WordPress Custom Post Type (CPT) because the database schema is not optimized for directory content. CPT’s are optimized for post/page content.

Providing drop and drag really is only feasible with a small directory. It really does not work well when dealing with hundreds and thousand of entries split across many pages.

re: The fact that there is also no “Quick Edit” mode in list view

Adding this has been long on my list of to do. The manage page is very old code and long overdue for a complete revamp. Honestly, not sure when I’ll get to it but when I do adding a quick edit like feature will be part of the revamp.

re: I found myself still hand writing who’s in what order only to hand-enter each number. With a Quick edit mode, you could at lease visually see all of the entries in their current order.

The entries should still be shown/listed in the order that was set on the manage page so you should be able to visually so who is in what order even though you can not see the actual order number assigned to the entry.

When the manag page revamp is done, it’ll be possible to add columns, perhaps adding a column to display the order number will be helpful. I’ve added that to my feature request list.

Ok, perhaps there is a bug … I did squash one yesterday in both both Form and Link which resulted in the view/edit links being displayed when they should not have been. I do not think these bugs are causing the issue for you though. If you can give me both a temp admin account and the test user login, I’ll take a look and debug. The login details can be posted here as a private reply. I’ll hold off on releasing updates for these two extension until I get to look at your site.

re: Are there more option or customization available for the premium templates?

    How do you mean???

re: By the way The search functionality was on the site for the past several months then vanished.

Then it must have been added by another means … perhaps custom coded or something or maybe you do own a premium template???

re: The admin still shows it.

    Correct, it always has been.

re: Was there a change in the plug-in? to force buying a template?

No, free features have ever been removed, making them pay only. Search in the frontend has been a feature of the premium templates.

re: are you saying to modify the WP Theme, or the Connections Slim-Plus “theme”?

You do not need to modify either. If the theme has a custom CSS section in its settings add it there and if it does not use this plugin to add custom CSS to your site.

re: I have a related question about typography. Is there a way to add Bold and perhaps other formatting to the text in the various fields in the entries? I REALLY need to be able to do that.

Depends, what exactly do you need to be bold?
