Ahhh… yes, that compatibility mode. Forgot about that thing. If I remember there’s an icon in the address bar too which can toggle it on/off. Compat mode basic turns IE back to version 6. Anything remotely modern will generally have issues… but in corporate environments with those legacy ActiveX webapps it’s needed.

Just an fyi… WP 4.8 will be dropping support for many older versions of IE 8, 9, and 10 so core WP admin stuff could stop working or be buggy in IE11 with comaptibility mode on.

re: as of right now when we have enhanced categories installed and activated it breaks the list and nothing is visible.

It appears you have version 8.5.17 of Connections installed… this is almost a year out of date. Many, many feature enhancements and bug fixes have been implemented over the course of this past year. Enhanced Categories has not been tested against this version and may not be compatible. I suggest first updating Connections.

re: We were under the assumption enhanced categories would allow us to make a list and then when you click on an organization it would take you to a new page to show all members within that organization.

No, this is not what Enhanced categories adds… it add the following features to categories:

    • Featured Images
    • Category Breadcrumbs
    • Display categories before the directory with the following options:
      • The depth of number of category children (descendants) to display from the hierarchy.
      • Whether or not to only display the category children when viewing a category.
      • You can choose to display the category count (the number of entries assigned to a category).
      • You can optionally choose to display or hide empty categories (categories which have no entries assigned to them).
      • Display the categories as a featured image grid or a multiple column list.
    • In templates which can display the categories assigned to the entry, such as the Default Entry Card and cMap, the categories can made to be links with the following options:
      • Selectable display style. Choose between an inline list or a vertical list.
      • Choose whether or not to display the category’s parents (ancestors).
Configurable category separator and parent category separator.

You can view a demo of Enhanced Categories with the cMap template on its demo page:

re: Can you please help us get this functionality

There is nothing available “out of the box” which links an individual entry to an organization entry. What you want can be done thru some “pseudo linking” (not sure what to call it) utilizing some custom code. I just implemented a very similar system for another user where if an individual had a matching (exact) org name (field) it would be displayed and visa versa. This custom code can be adapted to suit your requirements. If you are interested I do provide customization services. Please use the Contact link at the very button of the page for a quote.

Importing link title has been possible since the 1.4 update on 7/14/2016. I just finally brought the export up to parity.

    Hope that helps!

I do have a beta version which does have the option to send a notification when entries are routed to the “approved” queue, (not moderated). If you need, I can forward you an advanced copy. Let me know.

re: Are you saying the email doesn’t get sent to the admin for moderation when a regular user

Logged in as a user you, as an admin, would receive a notification of entry entry submission if is reouted to the moderation queue. If you allow submission from users without moderation, no, you would not receive an email notice. Does that help?

Ok, I see what you mean… you need to use either the category drop down from the template OR the category lists from the Enhanced categories extension. One uses query strings (the for dropdowns) and the other uses the category permalinks. What the address bar after you make the change in the drop down, the permalink will take precedence when querying which category to display which is why it does not appear to change.

    Hope this helps!

re: There is still an error but a different one (NoApiKeys and MissingKeyMapError).

That will go away after you setup your Google Maps API key. There no harms as it is purely informational.

re: It’s not very performance friendly to be loading the API when it’s not needed :)

I hear you loud and clear … unfortunately due to the very high number of broken themes and themes which change the default page render order it became impossible to account for all the variations to make sure the API is loaded when needed. The best compromise I’ve been able to make is it will only load on the page which cMap is in use (in this specific case). Even with this compromise, there are themes that still break that due to change how WP renders the page.

    Hope that helps!

Please enable the API and share a link to the page so I can take a look. Thanks!
