Ok, I’ve had the opportunity to login…
The
/neighborhood-helpers/page, that is not using Connections which explains why newly added entries do not show. Now, it seems both the “Directory by Last Name” and “Directory by Street” pages do use Connections. You’ve set the shortcode to exclude any entries added to the “Neighborhood Helpers” category on these page. I’m assuming the “Linda Text” entry is the one you been testing with. This entry is has been assigned the categories you are excluding.
I see you have a “Neighborhood Helpers Test”. This shortcode is setup to include only specific categories. In this case, the Linda Test entry is displayed.
I added a “Test 0-Test” entry and assigned it to categories which would have it displays on the “Neighborhood Helpers Test” and it did display as it should.
It seems things are working correctly.
Hope this helps!

I have not logged in yet, but… flush your W3TC page cache and make sure it is not set to cache pages for logged in users. Let me know if that solves the issue.

RE: my test site no longer exists – how do I fix this?
I did give a link in my last reply to a FAQ which explains how to manage the licenses when you no longer have access to the site.
RE: I thought about just buying another license but I would lose all my changes right?
What changes? Did you edit the plugins?
RE: Is there a way to change the domain name to point to my production URL?
I’ve manually deactivated them from your test site for you. YOu should now be able to activate them on the live site.
Hope this helps, let me know.

Navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page and click the Customize button for the cMap template. The page will refresh with the Customizer on the left and a preview on the right.
Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer. You will see a panel for both Search and Category Select. Under each of these there is the option to disable.
After you disable both, click the Save and Publish button.
Hope that helps!

On the settings page, enable the “Display categories above the results list?” option. Right under the breadcrumb option.
I suggest disabling the category select afterwards (in cMap).
Hope this helps!

It appears your two licenses are still activated on your test site. Log onto your test site and deactivate the licenses. You will then be able to activate the licenses on your live site. If you no longer have access to the test site, follow this FAQ.
Inactivate licenses do not impose any limitation on functionality. License activation is only required to receive inadmin updates, everything else will function normally. So, the licenses status is not preventing you from adding entries to the site. What exactly is the issue?
Hope this helps!

This only ever occurs when another plugin either overwrites the Connections admin menu item or removes its custom role capabilities. I recently help another user who inadvertently removed their access to admin page using Plugin Organizer. So, my first suggesting or to do a plugin conflict check:
–How do I check for a plugin conflict?
IF you are using any plugins which allow you to configure/hide admin plugin pages or such, double check their configuration to ensure you not accidently hiding them for your user account.
You can also try restoring the custom role capabilities by following this FAQ.
Hope this helps, let me know.

One solution would be the Widget Pack. It includes a search widget which can be placed in the theme’s sidebar or any other location the theme allows widget to be placed.
The another feature is that widgets can be converted to and used as shortcodes. So, if the page content is right below the slider where you can add shortcode codes, then that would work.
Hope this helps, let me know.

I do not believe the fault lies with Connections. Many URLs on every page on the site has “?issue=2017-fall appended to it. For example the top menu links. This is also being appended to the Connections permalinks which is causing them to break.
My suggestion is to try the theme and plugin conflict checks:
I suspect the it is setting somewhere in WP or a plugin/theme which is incorrectly configured.
Hope this helps, let me know.

How did you migrate the site to the new host? I recommend using Duplicator, BackupBuddy or similar plugins.
