RE: Found the problem: Address Fieldset Repeatable > This was not checked AND minimum number of address fieldsets was set to 0. 0 = no address fields in the address field
Ahhh… yes, that would cause it to not show as well. Hmmm… maybe I should force the repeatable setting to be on if the user chooses to display
0fields. I’ll have to give this some thought.Steven Zahm

Great to hear! Pro tip, you can use Say What to change string in any translation reading plugin, not just Connections. ;)

When you add the entries, are you setting them as “Public”?
What is the exact shortcode you are using on the page?

Add a new user meta key
connections_entry_idto the user where the value is the Connections Entry ID.Also, update the entry row in the
{wpdb-prefix}_connections. Set theuserfield with the WP User ID.Hope this helps!

The alphaindex should display horizontal by default. If it is not, then it is likely the theme causing it to display vertical by globally settings HTML span tags to display as blocks instead of inline.
This can be easily corrected with CSS. I can give you this, but you’ll need to share the link to the page with the issue so I can see it and create the correct CSS for you.

RE: I want to know if it is possible to just display the letter A-B-C (…) without viewing the results before clicking on it?
Sorry, no, this is not possible.
RE: is it possible to have the results by first name and not by last name?
Yes, it is possible, but then you can not use the character index above the list.
Here is the shortcode to use:
[connections order_by="first_name"]Steven Zahm

These settings only affect the frontend form. If this is where you are missing the address fieldset, you would navigate to that settings page and enable the Address fieldset.
You can control which fields display within a fieldset on the Connections Settings admin page under the Fieldset Configuration tab. These settings affect Form as well as the admin Manage Add/Edit entry pages.
Hope this helps clear the configuration options available to you and how they affect what you see.

To display the contact form, Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Display tab. Scroll down to the Single Entry Content Blocks section and enable the “Email Entry” option and save.
Here’s a link to a screenshot displaying the setting:

Hope this helps!
ps. One of the primary features of Contact is to hide the display of Email addresses to keep them private but still allow your site visitors to send email to your directory entries.

The cropping is largely affected by the source image. Cropping for images in many such plugins will base the scale/crop on the center of the image. Because, generally portrait shots have the face nicely centered within the image. So, that said, the image you upload, the closer the eyes are to the center the better the crop will be.
Changing the size will not affect the scale crop, it only will make the image smaller/larger.
I do have a free addon which you can try out. It is creatively called Face Detect. Here’s the link:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/connections-business-directory-face-detect/
Be aware applying this is rather server resource intensive. So, I would recommend uploading images where the face is as centered as possible.
Hope this helps!
