Sorry for the delay. I needed to ready the plugin package. Here’s the link.
To install, deactivate and delete the current version. This is safe to do. Go to the add new plugin admin page and select the upload submenu. Choose the zip file you downloaded from the link and click install. Finally, activate.
Let me know how it goes.

I think that is a bug with 0.7.8.1. Version 0.7.9 which will be released soon does have this fixed. Would you like an advanced copy?

Great to hear!
Interesting solution, using SiteShot. The images are created using a third party service; WordPress.com. There shouldn’t be a slow down as they’ll create the thumbnail and have it cached for serving. If they do flush the cached thumbnail, you will get their placeholder image until the thumbnail is recreated. usually by the time you refresh the page the thumbnail has been created and will be served. In the end, this could actually have a net page speed decrease; which would be good.

The only way to make this change is to edit the plugins core PHP file.
The edit will have to be made here.
Change it to:
mb_substr( $this->getLastName(), 0, 1, get_bloginfo( 'charset' ) );Steven Zahm
KeymasterPlease send it using the contact form. The link to it is at the bottom of the page.

The placement of the Facebook icon is dependant on the template being used.
Each template does have a demo. On the template product page; that is an actual working sample of the template. On the right sidebar you will see a link to the template’s demo page. Also, many of the template also include links to live sites using the template being shown.
You can also check out the Live Samples link which is a compilation of many sites using Connections. The Showcase page shows Connections, customized, for their directories.

3. Well, yes and no. No because the search is a keyword search. yes, because the search will search those fields. You could even limit the search to those fields if you wanted.
4. Both the cMap template and the Market template does have a Google Map.
