Ok, I just released the update. It should show up as an update in your WP admin soon. After you receive the update, let me know if it corrects the issue or not.

Wow, I apologize! I’m working on an update to Slim Plus right not that should hopefully correct the issue. At the latest I’ll push the update first thing tomorrow. After you receive the update, let me know if it corrects the issue or not.

RE: have a question regarding changing from ‘zipcode’ to ‘postcode’ in the address field of the add entry section.

The easiest/quickest way would be to follow the steps in this tutorial on how to change strings in Connections.

    Here are the settings:

    • Original string: Zipcode
    • Text domain: connections
    • Text context: blank
    • New string: Postcode

RE: I also want to remove the ‘state’ field.

I’m sorry but the state field is not removable. This would be the the region part of the address in the UK such as Belfast or London. You could use Say What? to better name this field.

RE: I have set the base country to UK in the settings but it defaults to United States in the add entry address section.

I apologize, it does appear there is a bug which causes this not to work correctly under some circumstances. I’ve identified the issue and corrected it. I’ll be releasing a minor update to day which will contain the fix.

Of note, the same bug affected the autofill of the region field too which also has been corrected.

I hope this helps, let me know.

Ok, this is likely a conflict with a theme or another plugin. The other plugin or theme is trying to “enhance” the drop down which already being “enhanced” by the multi category search. What I mean by “enhanced” is the category drop down being is auto complete / searchable.

I suggest looking thru the theme settings to see if the is an option to turn off enhanced drop downs. It may not be that exact wording but something similar.

Hope this helps, let me know.

ps. Here’s the link to the troubleshooting tutorials:

RE: What if I wanted to add another column like Membership? With this column I would like it either show both a date or a label like “LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP.” How will I import a column like that?

Here’s a developer doc which explains how to add a custom text field and how to setup it up so it can be available to CSV Import.

RE: I also would like to include Bio and a Facebook link. Would that be possible or would it be easier to add that in manually?

Add a Bio column to your CSV file and add a bio to each row in the CSV that you wish to import. When mapping the CSV file during the CSV import map your Bio column to the Bio field in Connections.

The same can be done for a Facebook link. Add the link to your CSV file and map it to the Social Media Facebook option when importing.

    Hope this helps!

    @ Age

There is a way to add custom fields, here’s the developer docs on how to add a custom text field. As far as making fields required, that is not as easy. You would have to use the Fieldset Configuration settings and ensure at least one Date fieldset is visible. The you would have to use JavaScript to add a require class to just that field (like the first/last name fields).

Not sure this helps or not, but I hope it does.

Hmmm… maybe the translation files in Connections are not update to date. I thought they were. I am releasing a minor update later today. I just pull the latest translations so they will be included. Let me know if that fixes it or not after you update.

    @ Clint

You’ll need one of the premium templates such as cMap to enable search.

    Hope that helps!
