Any WordPress dev should be able to add them. They could reference the free extensions that do this to see how it is done. They’ are all documented pretty well so a dev should be able to follow without too much trouble.

Ok, I see they are just using the cMap template. Looks stock, no customization that I can see after a quick look.

The images, they are all in the bio field. You can add as many images as you like in that field.

The http://theswagsinthebag.com site, is the Market template. It too will show any images that are added to the bio field.

Yes, it would be possible using some CSS, not sure how good it would look since it was not designed with a columnar layout in mind. Here’s a bit that should bit you on the right path:

}

Of you want to tweak this core template, I suggest reading this QuickTip and this QuickTip on how to do it in an update safe way. use one of the other, which is ever easier for you.

If you completely deleting everything, categories included, probably the best option would be drop the tables from the db using phpMyAdmin or similar tool.

Another option, would be to increase the number of entries shown per page. This can be adjusted in the Screen Options tab in the upper right corner. You could probably set it to a 100 or so (I would not recommend trying much more than that), that would you would have far fewer pages to delete.

In regards to “owning” entries? No this has not been done. The only extensions that is close is the Link extension.
