That would not work because that would change all titles of posts and pages throughout the site… in the nav, sidebar and such. In order to not break the SEO of the site, then title can only be changed under very specific condition. This one check is actually on one of them.

I will do some test using get_queried_object() and adding a is_404 conditional check.

As it stands now though, the update did at least fix the issue for you, correct?

Oh, that Code Snippet I suggest leaving that in place since you’ll need it when s2member releases updates. But this is very, very important… you missed that last step. after you activate it, you must deactivate. If left active, the core Connections roles capabilities will be reset on every page load, not good. So, in short, you only need to activate it, then deactivate it. That’s it. The page load in between the activation and deactivation is all it takes to reset Connections.

This was due to how s2member was configured. On the General options admin in the Member Profile Modifications section the Redirect Members away from the Default Profile Panel? option was set to Yes. This effectively blocks access to the admin which in turn will block the access to the Link profile admin page. I set this option to No and now it works correctly.

Ahhh… so you do have s2Member. Looks like they had an update recently. I’m guessing you updated it recently, yes? If so, that is the cause. Make sure you follow the instructions in the FAQ. Adding it to the theme’s functions.php file is not a good idea.

After you follow the FAQ… make sure to go back to the Connections : Roles admin page and reassign the role capabilities.

A few things come to mind…

• Another plugin has reset the WP roles and capabilities. s2Member is notorious for this.
• Another plugin is blocking admin access. Have you installed an security plugins lately?
• Or, the user roles were not assign the Add/Edit Entry capabilities on the Connections : Roles admin page.

My suggestions…

1. Go to the Connections : Roles admin page and check the Reset All Role Capabilities and then click the Update button. Then ensure your user roles have the Add/Edit Entry capability OR the Add/Edit Moderated Entry capability. Fixed? If not, do next step.
2. Using s2Member or another membership, see this FAQ. Fixed? If not, do next step.
3. Have a security plugin installed, check its options to see if it blocks admin access for users. If it does disable the option. If it does not, temporarily deactivate the plugin to see if the issue is resolved.

The image size can be adjusted in the card.php file found here:

../wp-content/plugins/connections-excerpt-plus/

You can adjust the values on lines 12 + 13.

You’ll likely need to adjust the CSS a bit to accommodate the largest image size.

With this, is this something you feel comfortable doing, or would you like me to give a quote of what it would cost to do a custom template for you?
