Nope, no harm in this being public. The caches are stored in the main {wpdb_prefix}_connections table as serialized arrays.

Below is the code that will disable the caches. Like I said, disabling the cache will have a performance impact due to the increased number of db queries that will be required.

Using this code you will bypass the caches… as soon as you remove the code, the caches will be used which means the old data be shown. NOTE: Even with the caches disabled, when you add/edit an entry the caches will be kept in sync. This only disable the caches when displaying the entries.

TIP: you can use the Code Snippets plugin to add this code to your site having the ability to turn it on and off as needed with a click of a link. It is a plugin I highly recommend.

Looks like you might have copy/pasted the code from my previous reply. You can do this, but you must paste into the WP post editor while on the “Text” tab. If you are in the “Visual” tab, you have to manually type the shortcode in or it will not work. This is not a Connections bug but the way the WP Visual editor works. When you paste in the Visual editor, the HTML from the site the code/text was copied from will also be pasted. It is this that can can break shortcodes / keep them from working.

1. Are the entries set be be “Public”?
2. What is the exact shortcode you are using on the director page?
3. Can you please share a link to the directory page?
4. Can you share a System Info link with me? This can be created on the Connections : Tools admin page under the System Info tab.

Sorry, no. The caches are only updated on write events (add/edit) not read events (showing in the browser). I do plan on releasing a new tool based on the new CSV export code to do cache refreshing but this will not be done in any timeframe that will do you any good.

There just is no easy way to deal with “force refreshing” the caches at this time, sorry.
