    @ Rebecca

Interestingly I just answered a very similar question just earlier this morning. Rather than repeat the answer, I’m going to link to it. I hope you do not mind!

RE: If a heading is too long, the text is cut off and not put on a new line in the TOC.

This is a known issue. No solution is available at this time.

RE: How can I disable the active highlighting? I have no use for it.

Sorry, but this feature can not be disabled at this time.

RE: the %suffix% string replacement is only recognized in in the title of a listing with the “Individual” setting checked

Correct as Organizations and Family entry types names do not have a suffix.

RE: if the “Organization” listing type is checked, then “%suffix%” isn’t parsed inside the listing.

    Correct.

RE: Switched to “Organization” type, displays as: … Joe Jones, %suffix% (byline)

Hmmm where are you inserting %suffix% in this case? When an entry is an Organization, there are Contact First and Last Name fields, no suffix. So it would not be supported. The supported tokens are %label%%separator% %first% %last%. These are also listed on the Template Customizer where the Name Format tokens are listed.

    Hope this helps!

    @ Ramona

    Try this shortcode:

    [connections image=none image_fallback=none image_single_fallback=none image_width=0]

I have not tested this, let me know how it goes.

RE: when do you think that update with the map integration will be rolled out?

Well, hard to say and to be very frank. That is a feature that I have on my to do list for years now because there are a lot of under the hood things that I needed to implement before coding it the way I want it to work. Those pieces are starting to come together.

One itm that will come first is a generic map block for the new WP page/page editor. Nothing fancy, just a map with a pin. Like others already available. The purpose it will serve me is to become even more familiar with the new blocks system as a dev and to help further flesh out the new map API in Connections. After that I want to create another map block that will allow one to pick an entry or perhaps a category of entries to display on a map. Much closer to what you’re asking for.

RE: is it possible to change the dropped pin icon to something else?

There is no user way to change the map pin at this time. The underlining map API does support it however. My hope at some point will be to allow the user to define custom map pins.

Hope I have answered your questions thoroughly!

Another location this can be found:

    • Navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page.
    • Click the Customize button for cMap.
    • The page will reload displaying the Customizer on the left and a preview on the right.
    • Click the Back Arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
    • Click the Advanced panel.
    • The tokens can be found under the Name Format option in the help text.

I thought you might find that location helpful too since it contains the tokens for the other fields.

RE: I have seen this error frequently in the forum

An update which addresses this warning was released earlier today, please navigate to the WordPress Plugins admin page and update to 8.36.1.

Once in a great while testing does not cover a scenario in which an warning might be issued by PHP makes thru to release. A quick search of the forums shows about 20 instances over roughly 5 years with most posts being from multiple users for the same occurrence.

I do my best to make sure that none ever slip through but it does happen. I apologize for the trouble and inconvenience this has caused you!

The best solution to ensure PHP errors and warnings are not displayed publicly. This is considered to be a best practice for live websites.

Here’s a link to a tutorial which you can use to ensure these are not publicly displayed:

Hope this helps! Again, apologies for the trouble!

RE: What is the string substitution for “honorific suffix”?

    It is: %suffix%

Here’s the link to the docs covering the tokens:

    Hope that helps!

Can you share link to the page having the issue?

I’ve found this site from your licenses: http://www.indianahhw.org/find-your-district/

It seems to be working alright. The only thing I see is that the cMap template is a few years out of date.
