re: Would ‘Contact’ allow this option on an entry by entry basis or does it have to be applied to the entire directory?
It is applied to the entire directory.
re: I need to change the labels in the tile-plus template. “Home Phone” to “Local Phone” for example. Is modifying the PHP my only option?
No, you do not need to edit PHP to make this change. See this QuickTip on how to change labels and other text in Connections to change those to change that label.
Hope that answers your questions.

I am aware of this WordPress error and what generally causes it, that said, I have never seen that associated with Connections.
A quick Google search shows this is not isolated to Connections. I most the links I read, which hoesntly were only a few, this has happend but the other devs were not able to replicate it. Of course, I can not replicate it either.
According to others, simply going the the PLugins admin page after receiving the message and then activating the plugin will allow the plugin to be activated. So, that’s what I suggest trying.
Hope this helps, let me know.

re: Oddly, my client’s host only provides 48M of memory.
Really!?! How odd and surprising. Which host, if I may ask?
48MB will not give you much wiggle room I suggest temporarily installing the Query Monitor plugin to see how close to that limit you’re getting. It’ll add a nifty admin bar item, just clicking on it (not any of its submenu items) will take you to a section which will show you the “Peak memory usage”.
re: I was able to install & activate both Jupiter and Connections without any issue. They have now decreased it back to 48M but the error message has not come back! So fingers crossed it stays that way. If not, I’ll move the site to a different host.
If you have to move, I suggest SiteGround at least the GrowBig WordPress hosting plan. The price is very good with excellent performance and support. (I do not get anything for this recommendation, just a very satisfied customer who was disappointed with several other very popular hosts).
Hope that helps!

Can you double check to make sure those links Visibility was set to Public? If they are could you share a screenshot of one that does show a link vs one that does not (from the Edit Entry admin page, Links section).
Can you also please let me know the exact shortcode you are using on the page?

This is difficult to answer without knowing more about the complete desired final result including the desired functionality.
You could import the plant species as categories but that might not be the best solution which will depend on the final desired outcome with desired feautres and functionality.
Not sure that really answers your question or not but I hope it does help.

re: I’d like to remove the bio from the search results pages and have all of their contact info displayed. Basically I’d like it to appear like tiled plus.
Well, technically, this is possible, but would require fairly extensive PHP code changes to the template. Is this something you can do, if so, I can provide some general guidance on which files to edit. If not, I do provide custom development if you are interested.
re: Also, the drop down search is just blank until you click on the drop down itself. How can I have it say something like “Category Selection” or something like that?
It seems somehow an older version of the template is installed, not sure how that would be possible??? I suggest downloading it from your purchase history then deactivateing/deleting it and then re-install it. You’ll have to force refresh your browser so the new files are loaded by the browser instead of the old versions cached by the browser but that should fix it.
Hope that helps, let me know.

re: I would like to have the image link directly to the entry’s preferred web link (in a new page) rather than have the panel display. I don’t really need the panel or the details page for this application. Just a direct link to the preferred site I entered in “links”.
This would actually require extensive reworking of the template to accomplish which not easily done. Sorry.
re: when I click to open the panel, the page jumps back to the top again, so I have to scroll back down to view the newly opened panel. Can I at least stop this jump up to the top?
Yeah, that is really annoying. I’ve seen this happen a couple times before. It is a conflict with the theme or a another plugin that makes the calculation to the current entry being clicked wrong. I’m actually removing that effect in the next update to Gridder. Here’s how to fix it now.
- Navigate to the
../wp-content/plugins/connections-gridder/folder. - Download and open the
gridder.jsfile. - On line 253 you will find this:
$( _self._scrollTo() ).animate( { scrollTop: _me.position().top }, 0 );
Change it to this:
//$( _self._scrollTo() ).animate( { scrollTop: _me.position().top }, 0 ); - Save the file overwriting the original.
- Now delete the
gridder.min.jsfile.
That should resolve the jumping.
Hope that helps!

I received your email and will be responding to it momentarily.

It sounds like you have not actually installed the template. The first thing you must do is download the template zip file from the email you were sent or from your purchase history. Then you must install the template. Here’s a link to the documentation on how to install a template.
Hope that helps, let me know.

re: It’s somewhat imperative that the anniversaries show the years of employment. Is this feature available in the widget pack?
Sorry, but none of the widget show the number of years so I do not think it’ll meet your requirements.
re: Also, do you have anything available to see how this looks as a sidebar widget.
Sorry, no, I do not because the appearance will really depend on the theme as the widget will inherit whatever still the theme applies to widgets.
Hope that answers your questions thoroughly!
