re: I spent some time with someone going through the site files on godaddy and they let me know that there are malicious files and this particular plugin

There very may have been malicious files ask GoDaddy states but they would not be from this plugin.

re: I reloaded my wp content and when I try to go and activate Connections in my plugin list and it tells me it can’t and it gives me this:

That is a required file in Connections, if it does not exists Connections will crash. This is not a limitation or bug in Connections. If you would delete a required file in WordPress it too would crash.

What I suggest is to log into you site with FTP and delete this folder:

    ../wp-content/plugins/connections/

    Your data is safe.

Then log in to your site, if you can, and then reinstall like you normally would.

    Hope that helps!

What page do you have the directory home page set to? It seems to be this page. It should be the page with the [connections] shortcode on it.

re: I have tested the form in two browsers, and the category dropdown is not working

It seems something is conflicting but I am not able to tell. Can you please try both the plugin conflict test and theme conflict test?

re: Is there a way to add the form to another page using shortcode?

Are you planning on using Link to allow users to edit their own entries? If no, then yo can use the [connections_form] shortcode. That said, I only officially support the submit link above the directory for now.

Hope this helps, let me know the results of the conflict test.

re: There must still be malicious files in this plugin that keep trying to crash the site.

There are no malicious files in the plugin.

re: If I delete the plugin from WordPress and re-download, will I lose all the data?

No, you will not lose you data.

re: Currently, nothing shows and I can’t get into the plugin from WordPress with out errors.

    And, what are the errors?

I just release the update which should correct the shortcode so it displays in columns.

Hope this helps, let me know.

Yes, I have been working on this most the day in fact. And was typing my reply as I received your latest query.

I was able to replicate this on my test site. I was not able to find the exact cause but it was either related the file not being able to be parsed properly due to some of the serialized field data. Maybe all the extra quotes was making it an invalid CSV file. There was also two Title fields. This could have been breaking the mapping.

I was able to import just fine once the extraneous fields were removed from the file. So that is my suggestion.

Now, that said, I did find a bug with the import of categories. The categories with & in the name were not being imported. It took me a while to track down why and correct. I’m not sure when this bug was introduced as I know it was not an issue before.

I’m working on pushing an update to CSV Import in the next couple hours. Look for it in your WP and update. (Note: you’ll have to activate your license on the site to update with thin the admin. Alternatively, you can manually apply the update. Since you are working in WAMP, I assume you know how to do that.)

Apologies for the troubles, let me know how it goes.

Sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble. Are there any error messages be displayed? Are you able to upload the same images to the WordPress Media Library?

Can you give me a temp WP admin login and I’ll take a look? Details can be posted here as a private reply.

Is the file you attached originally still current? Can you also attach a screenshot showing the mapping you are using?
