Well, technically possible., but not “out of the box”. This would have to be custom coded. I do offer customization services if you are interested.

re: Can I use the client’s existing Member ID instead of Entry ID somehow?

Sorry, no the entry ID is auto assigned in increments by the WordPress database as entries are entered into Connections. The same way which page and posts ID are auto created and incremented.

Connections does support custom fields. You could add a custom field which can be used to store the existing member ID.

re: Can Import logos? — I was thinking I could add the logos into WordPress Media, then save the urls in their Access database as a field, but how would I import that?

Sorry, no, importing logos is not possible at this time. However, the URL is exported. So, if you added the member ID custom field you could potentially sync in reverse. Export the data from Connections into you access database.

    Hope this helps!

Apologies, it seems there was a processing error with your purchase and a support license key was not properly created. I’ve manually generated a code and resent the sales confirmation email which will contain your support license code. Please let me know if you do not receive this email.

    Again, apologies for the trouble!

You could set up two pages, one for the tabbed view and one to view the single entry. Here’s how:

    • Edit the page the directory is currently on. Look in the browser’s address bar and not the page id that WordPress has assigned the page.
    • Create a new page. On this new page add only the Connections shortcode with the home_id shortcode option set to the page ID of the initial directory page.
    • After you save the new page, Take note of its page ID.
    • Edit the original page again and add the home_id shortcode option setting it to the new page.
    • Ensure the new page does not display in your sites navigation.

Now, when an entry is clicked on your directory page, the links will resolve to the new second page displaying only that entry with no other content.

    Hope that helps!

re: Only thing is that one of my search pages has just one drop down with a list of services

On the one page, you could use the templates category filter instead. It auto submits when you make a category selection.

    Hope that helps!

Just is correct, you need the Link extension and optionally the Form extension which adds frontend editing.

    Hope that helps!

Well, not possible as it is. Right now it functions as designed because there are several available search criteria. It seems to me to make more sense to let the user fill in each (as desired) before performing the query… Having the page refresh while the user is trying to input search criteria could be pretty frustrating.

Please use a plugin such as Duplicator or the site migration features of BackupBuddy. These plugins will ensure the proper migration of the WordPress database and any custom tables in use by plugins such as Connections. If you are manually moving data, that can cause problems with WordPress such as this.

The other tip I can provide… turn off FULLTEXT query support on the Connections : Settings admin page before migrating the data. If the destination database does not support FULLTEXT then the data will fail to import.

    Hope this helps!

Sorry, no, I do not have a recipe plugin.

Ok, it sounds as if the Connections tables were not move when the site was moved. And when the site was moved, Connections was already active so it was active at the new location. That would explain how Connections was activated without its tables being created.

When moving a site I highly recommend using a plugin like Duplicator or BackupBuddy. They’ll ensure all data from all plugin including their tables are migrated.

    Hope that helps!
