It is supposed to show a Google Map in a slidedown content tray. I just visited your ohio******.com site and the map tray seems to be working fine for me. Perhaps you are using and ad blocker or have javascript disabled in your browser?

RE: is there any chance of a cluster map in the future?
I have had pans to add one for quite awhile now… it has been put off until I’m done with the completely refactoring of the code to enable full support for the REST API which will be critical to properly support the radical new page editor WP is going to add.
Those maps are of a really limited usability anyway. Think about when you have personally used directories which had cluster maps. Did you really actually use it? I know I have not. I’m always searching for a specific location or a specific name.
RE: you should add the phone number line as part of the address so each address can have it’s own specific phone number attached.
I would suggest that they should be separate entries if they have different addresses with different phone numbers. Take McDonalds as example… you would not add all addresses to a single entry with all their phone numbers. You would add each location as a single entry because they are separate locations.
Hope that helps!

Sorry, but this is not going to work. The closest option would be to use the List widget and the search widget and place them into the theme’s sidebar. But that would not be a complete solution as the List widget is designed to support the display of only a limited number of entries, not paginated like the shortcode.

KeymasterRE: What is the purpose of the multiple dropdowns as they all display the same options and if I do a search after selecting a different category in two of them I get no results.
You should configure only the number of drop downs you wish to have. One for each category parent, so the children will be presented as options. Follow the syntax I gave as an example.
RE: The supplied shortcodes for filtering address fields appear to do the same as selecting these options under search in the connections settings.
Not sure I understand exactly what your are asking. Could you provide an example?
RE: When I remove the”Search String Results” from the SC it still appears in the display.
How do you mean? Can you please provide the exact shortcode you are using and a screenshot of the result you are seeing.
RE: Where to change text for the zipcode label placeholder or is this achieved by adding it to the overall SC.
Add the shortcode
placeholder_zipto the shortcode and set the value to the string you want to be used.RE: Can the max radius be increased to 25 or is this a limitation by Google
You would use the
radius_optionsoption to default you own radius options. Set the value to the options you wish to use following the syntax provided in the documentation.RE: Is it possible to add any more search fields dedicated to specific address items or equally to custom fields which I have not yet created.
Only the following supported address fields:
enable_districtenable_countyenable_regionenable_country
Any custom text fields you might add will be search via the keyword search field if enabled in the Search Settings. Your custom text fields will show as options which will need to be enabled after you register them.
RE: I think that some of my queries may well be down to lack of understanding about how to expand the shortcodes as supplied, could you give just a few examples of such an expansion and I will be able to understand the syntax better and continue my development.
Here’s an expanded example:
[cn_multi_category_search category="x||Default Text in Dropdown|Search Results: %s,y||Default Text in Dropdown|Search Results: %s,z||Default Text in Dropdown|Search Results String" enable_district=true enable_county=true enable_region=true enable_country=true enable_zipcode=true radius_options='5:5 Miles|10:10 Miles|15:15 Miles|20:20 Miles|50:50 Miles' placeholder_zip='Custom Placeholder']Hope that helps!

There are a couple solutions. So I can present you with the right one for you… Could you describe in more details exactly what you would like?
Thanks!

RE: is it possible to have a “master map” at the top of my directory page that populates all of the doctors pins from the directory so people can quickly look for their area and see if there is a dropped pin for a doctor by them?
Sorry, no, there is no cluster map feature.
RE: all of the photos I uploaded to Connections before the cmap theme are still attached to their profiles, but now all of them have a grey ghosted image as if cmap is populating something instead of recognizing what’s already uploaded?
This is because cMap displays the logo by default, instead of the photo. What you need to do is configure cMap to display the photo instead. Here’s how:
- Navigate to the Connections Templates admin page.
- Click the Customize button for cMap. The page will refresh with the Customizer on the left and the preview on the right.
- Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
- Click the Image panel.
- Change the Image Type to Photo.
- Click the back arrow again.
- Click the Bio Image panel.
- Choose either the logo or none for the Image Type.
- Now, click an entry name in the Preview. Any entry name, it does not matter. The Preview will refresh showing the single entry profile view of the cMap template.
- Repeat the image type changes. The reason this needs done twice is because each view of the cMap template can be configured independently for maximum flexibility.
- After you have made the changes Publish the changes and exit the Customizer.
Hope this helps!
ps. While you are in the Customizer, nagate around to the various options. cmap has many ;)

KeymasterYes, cMap will likely work just fine with your chosen theme. Worst case is that the theme will override some Connections/cMap CSS causing the template to not look entirely correct. This is minor and if you encounter a CSS issue let me know, provide a link and I’ll take a look. Generally the fix is quick and easy.

Sorry, no. cMap support filtering by one category only.
