Currently Connections only supports keyword searches within the entire directory and limited with a category. Hope that answers your question.

You need to use the category shortcode option. The option you’re trying to use is only for turning on and off the category drop down on templates that feature it. The correct values would be either true or false.

Different templates provide different features and functionality with different visual styles; much like themes for WordPress. With that said, Excerpt Plus does not have a map and displays just the bio, but that can be tweaked.

You’ll have to activate cMap which has both the map and category drop down and when you click thru to a single entry displays the all the content for the entry unless you turn stuff off.

If there is a .htaccess file in the folder, try deleting it. If that doesn’t work, try putting a blank index.html and blank index.php files in the folder.

You don’t need to re-install or do anything with Connections. You need to edit your redirections so the correct pages are redirected to rather than redirecting to the home page.
