Is it possible for you to mimic the directory you linked to as an example with no coding … sorry, but no. Mimicking that exactly can be done with Connections but it would require a custom template to be developed for you. I’m not available right now, but I do have a dev that I can recommend if you would like.

The officer title is entered in the Department field within the entry. That is what is being displayed, not the actual category the entry has been assigned.

Please read this FAQ. Specifically, you need to remove the code and pre tags from around the [connections] shortcode.

The site that you linked to, they are using the Market template which can be purchased from here.

honestly, I started this extension twice and haven’t finished it. Ran into minor obstacles each time that would prevent it from working. So, what I’m doing is cleaning up my templating code to make sure it it’ll working perfectly. My eta for the update to connections was the end of March (originally the end of November) … I think I am at most a couple weeks from being completely finished … its a major release. Not much will look different but there are huge code changes. Contact will follow shortcode after its release. As far as features, It will be only to allow a site visitor to email the entry within Connections without exposing the email address. It will not have any bulk email capabilities.

Apologies in the delay to my reply!

Connections has no built in way to take payments and such. Other users have used membership plugins such as Restrict Content Pro to handle user registration and taking payments. They used Link to allow there members to add a entry to the directory.

The entries you were able to view as a guest, did you have the entry set as private? Did you update the settings to require login? Are you using a page cache plugin such as W3TC?

Yep, all of these are on my extension to do list.

Making the phone number links … you can do that already. Go to the Connections : Settings admin page. You can enable it under the Advanced tab.

Please keep the ideas coming. I do keep very care track of what is being requested and use the ideas for planning.

I see you’re using W3TC, excellent plugin! Make sure you empty the page cache after you make the category change.
