If you are using Connections to manage a business directory, such as a chamber of commerce, an important piece of information to add are the hours of operation.
This is easy with Connections and the free Open Hours extension. Take a moment to install and configure it now. It only takes a few steps. When finished, come back here.

Open Hours Metabox
When you add or edit an entry in your directory you will have a new Business Hours section (called a metabox). You can add the open/close hour for each day of the week in this section.
To add open hours to a day, first click the Open input and use the time sliders to set the hours and minutes. Repeat this step in the Close input. Next, do this for each day which has open hours. Finally, to create a closed day, leave both the open and close hours blank.
Save your changes after you have added the open hours so you do not lose your work.

Open Hours Sidebar Widget
Open Hours also supports complex hours of operation. An example of complex open hours is a business which is closed for lunch. Multiple open or closed times within a day are called periods. To add multiple periods in a day you would click the +
button.
Let’s use closed for lunch as an example. First, click the +
button twice. This will create three periods for the day. Next, set the open and close hours for the first and third periods. Last, leave both the open and close hours blank in the second period. This creates a closed period for lunch. See the widget screenshot as an example of a closed for lunch period.
In conclusion, adding open hours of operation to a business is simple and intuitive. Therefore, you can quickly add this vital information, providing more value to your visitors.
