Will that break anything, don’t know because that is a scenario I’ve never tested. Best guess it’d be fine until you update Connections, you’d have to reapply the changes to query that new column.

Here’s a thought.

Assuming you are entering a business as an Org enter each contact as an individual making sure to add the business name to the org field.

You could then enter a “Link” that would filter the results based on the org name. The link would be something like this:

http://domain.tld/directory-home-page/?cn-organization=Org Name

It would be simple to, in an update safe way, a new “Link” type named “Contacts” or whatever is applicable to your requirements.

Would something like that work?

If you successfully duplicated and changed all the require unique IDs for the field which I suspect you did since you can add and update (?) your new custom field then the only step you might be missing is enabling the display of it on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Display tab. If it does not show up as an option to display, make sure you’ve updated the settingsOption() function to match the field ID in the registerMetabox() function.

Well, it is possible, but there is nothing available that is plugin and play it would have to be custom coded to your specifications. This site is an example. Insurance Plan, Group and Specialization are simply top level categories and the options are their children categories.

Yes, you can use the CSV Import extension regardless of the template you decide to use.

The image can be disable by using the image shortcode option enabled by Tile Plus. Use the following shortcode:

Form allows anonymous submissions which is what it was originally designed for. The Link integration is newer. What you need to do is go to the Connections : Settings admin page and disabled the Submit New Entry in the Result List Actions section under the Display tab.

That will remove the “submit” action link leave only the view my directory/add my directory entry action links.

Unfortunately the theme author decided to apply a “enhanced” select drop down to every select drop down, not limiting it to ones created by the theme.

Excerpt also, enhances the select drop drop down and only its select drop down.

That said, what you are seeing is both the theme and the template are enhancing the drop drop. It appears the theme’s script is running first which is destroying the one in the Excerpt Plus.

Hopefully the easiest thing to do will be to hide the destroyed select drop down. Tray adding the following to the theme’s custom CSS area:

#cn-excerpt-plus .chosen-container.chosen-container-single {
  display: none !important;
}

Hopefully the template select drop down will continue to function even though it is not the one created by the template.

There is not a way to do that without modifying the PHP code of the template. The changes would be more than a small bit of code that I could paste here in the forums, but if you know PHP, here’s the function you’d want to use:

My guess after looking at the CSV file is that you are not meeting this requirement noted in the docs on this CSV Import admin page:

“The CSV text file must have fields for the first name and last name OR organization name and must be mapped to the corresponding fields within Connections, otherwise that row will be skipped when the CSV is being imported.”
