If you switch to the desired category and then perform the key word search the searches will be limited to within the selected category.

You could also “deep link” into a category for your users. Add a Custom URL nav menu item. If you use this URL for the nav menu item any searches perform on this page would be limited to the category.

Since you are using Form to allow frontend editing… use an admin blocker plugin to disallow your users access to the admin.

If you require moderation, yes, the entry will not appear until the admin approves the entry again. This very closely matches how WP handles draft pages, they will not show up in the nav until published. Connections attempts to match WP functionality as close as possible in order to provide a familiar comfortable feel to its useage.

As for not reappearing… is the page that shows the families being cached? If it is, you’ll have to purge it from the page cache after you approve entries in moderation.

It is already using Connections, an older version of it, but it is still the Connections plugin. I see you also have older versions of the Form extension and Market template.

Now, I see the other links on the page are not using Connections and they appear to be directory like info. If it is this info you want to use Connections for, sorry, but you will have to add it into Connections because there is not a way to import WordPress posts and categories into Connections. You will have to re-add it manually. It might be possible to export the existing data as a CSV file, but you would still have a lot of work to clean up the CSV file so it could be imported into Connections.

Do you somehow have both versions installed? Search your installed plugins make sure there are not multiple installations of cMap… I’m only guessing the possibility of a duplicate installation as I see no other way both version numbers can be displayed. Caching does not make sense because the version exists in only a single file. So if it shows in one place it has to show the same in the second.

re: no customize button.

What customize button are you expecting??? This one? This feature is still being built and has not been released. All templates will need to be updated to use the new Template Customizer… I literally just started updating cMap (5.0) yesterday to use the new Template Customizer.

In the card.php or card-single.php file… the same file you remove the if statement to show the addresses earlier today. You’ll see in both files another instance of $entry->getImage() for the image it is already showing.

Sounds like you are not exporting all the tables. Make sure you export the following:

Using the quick export settings for the SQL file is all that is needed in phpMyAdmin.

Before you reimport, make sure you drop the existing tables otherwise the term parent/child relationships will not be maintained due to the autoincrementing of the term ID column.

Yes, if editing the template, it’s possible.

Use this:

One thought … since I do not know the details that triggered this… If it was just someone testing.. if they want to test email notifications triggered by Connections, they can not test logged in as an admin as the admin will not trigger email notifications. They should test logged in as a “user” with the same permissions as the “regular” users on the site.

You need to edit the card-single.php file and remove this:

if ( $atts['show_addresses'] ) 

Then the addresses will show regardless of the shortcode settings.
