Sorry, no, nothing officially supported at this time. That said, this post has a code snippet that adds a new shortcode that you can use to add to a page that will show the edit entry link if the current logged in user has a linked entry.

For this code to work, you need to be using the Form extension.

How to install the code snippet:

Installed the code Snippets plugin.

Add the code from the other post as a new snippet.

Save and activate the snippet.

Add the [connections_edit_link] shortcode to you members profile page.

No, not with the shortcode you are using. Setting the specific entries to display by setting the id shortcode option will always limit the list to those entries.

That said…

Assuming you have always used the order_by='id|RANDOM' shortcode option… There was a bug when using the order by random that would cause the entry to be listed for each category it was assigned to. I’m guessing this was the cause of the duplicates that you were experiencing. This bug was fixed between a year and year and a half ago. So you should no longer need the id shortcode option to prevent duplicates.

Now, it sounds like you have duplicate entries in your database as a work around but limiting the display to only one of them, correct?

To test that the bug is fixed for you, set those duplicates to unlisted and remove the id option.

Now, you still might having another problem…

I see this is a heavily modded version for Slim Plus 1.0. There is a category selection bug in that version that you should fix. Open the slim-plus.php file, look for this block of code towards the end of the file:

In cMap the .cn-left and cn-right classes are used to create the two column layout of the card… they are just containers for all the other elements. If you wish to select the bio and map links you need to select the .cn-bio-anchor and .cn-map-anchor classes. I would suggest making the selectors a bit more specific so they will only affect cMap like so:

#cn-cmap .cn-bio-anchor,
#cn-cmap .cn-map-anchor {
    background-color: green;
    padding: 10px;
}

Sorry, impossible to know from the screenshot… maybe it is being added by the theme.

re: i was wondering if i could put certain profile infor side by side to make profile card less deep. It seems like theres alot of white space in the centre and bottom left.

Making it a three column is possible but it would require restructuring the template PHP code and styles well beyond the scope of what I can provide as tweaks in the support forum. Maybe increase the size of the business logos or settings the max-width of the entry card would be a suitable alternative. If not, I do provide custom development services if you are interested.

Ok, the theme is setting many form inputs including selects to a width of 230px. Adding the following to the theme’s custom CSS area should resolve the issue.

#cn-cmap select.cn-category-select.cn-enhanced-select {
    width: auto !important;
}

The initial_results='true' option should be added to the page(s) where you have added the [connections] shortcode. Put another way you add it to the existing instances of the shortcode, you do not add the shortcode again. Hope that makes sense?

The default template that comes with Connections supports the new Template Customizer, so you could play with that. The experience will be very similar with all templates. Actually the only difference will be the options available which will vary from template to template.

There’s nothing in Connections that limits the width of the category drop down. If you’re seeing that, then another plugin or the theme (most often the case) is limiting the widget of selects. The track would be to override the width the theme has set by using a more specific CSS selector. If you can give me an updated link showing the issue, it’ll only take me a few seconds to determine it and I can let you know what it is.
