I logged and took a look. The issue seems to be that the theme set a global style on form div which hide overflow content. The enhanced drop down on Slim Plus “overflowed” and was hidden by that style the theme set. Basically you were only seeing one small part of the drop down instead of all of it.

I installed a custom CSS plugin, JP Custom CSS and added a bit of custom CSS which will unhide the form div in the template.

The steps are correct. Double check to make sure that the Directory Home Page is set to the correct page. If it is, perhaps there is a conflict with another plugin, test for it. I’ve seen this happen when other plugins throw fatal javascript errors on the page. You can see these by loading the page in Chrome, hitting the F12 key and then clicking the Console tab. Did you see any error, if so, what are they. The best I can do from a screenshot is offer these guesses. If you grant me access to your site with a temp admin account, I can take a closer look. The login details can be posted here as a private reply.

Ok, this is much more clear now! That second search box you are seeing is from the category drop drop, its searchable too. Something is clearly wrong though because that is not the way it should appear.

The Say What? plugin, that is used only to change text within Connections (and other plugins). It will not be able to solve whatever this issue is.

In order to debug this further, I’ll need access to the site. The login details can be posted here as a private reply. A temporary admin account would be the best.

The solution is different from what you describe though. It is actually a radius search based on the input zipcode.

I’m a little confused… are there two questions? It seems like the category filter is not working and you want to change the “Search” string in the keyword search input. Is that correct?

The first issue of the category filter not working, can you share a link to the page with the issue so I can see?

Here are the settings to change the “Search” string in Say What?

– Original String: Search
– Text Domain: connections
– Text Context: blank
– Replacement String: Whatever you wish it to say.

The upgrade price would be the full price minus the price of the item you are upgrading from. UPgrading does not extend the license expiration though (software limitation), but, if you email me, I will extend it to be a full year from the date that you upgraded.

I may eventually make my own Connections focus image gallery extension, yes. But, I have no idea when. The two image fields above are “special” as they are for proper vCard support, so, those specific fields will not be changed.

As mentioned above…

Both the bio and notes fields support images and support using images from the Media Library. You can add as many images as you want. Many users use image gallery plugins which display galleries via a shortcode and then add the shortcode to the bio or notes. That way they can use the image gallery plugin to manage the galleries for their entries. It is a little more complex but more flexible.
