Connections can export custom fields without changing the code in Connections itself, but, that said, one still must hook into the export process to export the custom field data. The reason being the custom fields can contain any arbitrary data so they is no way to know how to process the data to export it.
Now, if what you want to export is just a text field, the code to export it is really simple. Assuming this is basically a continuation of this thread, I can spend some time this week to put together two tutorials to compliment it, one for CSV Import and one for CSV Export.
Let me know.

First, see this FAQ:
http://connections-pro.com/faqs/receiving-update-package-not-available-error/
If you have done this and still receive this error, please let me know.
You can access your downloads from your purchase history under the Downloads tab.
To update manually, simply deactivate and delete the current version and then install an and activate the new version. You data is safe and will not be deleted (this is pretty much the process that WP does automatically when it updates plugins).
Hope that helps!

Sorry, I do not know why.
Try this, open a private window and log in and add a browser key.
Not sure if it’ll help or not, but hope it does. If it does not, the only thing I can suggest is Google it and see if others had the issue and see what they did to resolve it.

Neither require each other, rather they compliment each other. That said, using Form without Link gives you the ability to allow anyone to submit entries to the directory but does not allow them to maintain it, that requires Link. Without Link, it also gives you as the admin the ability to make edits in the site’s frontend to entries.
Hope that helps! Let me know.

No, currently the links to any sitemap files, however, Google will still crawl the directory just fine as long as the page that the shortcode is on is in the sitemap.
Hope that answers your question!

Two solutions… the user could add the entry using the admin directory profile page or you could set the permissions to require moderation. The user will be able to edit the entry as often as they wish while in moderation without being displayed.
Hope that helps, let me know.

re: I wonder if the simplest approach, if Steven plans any programming work on this, would be for the cMap template to be modified to:-
* display the logo by default on the summary page, but if there is no logo, then display the photo on the summary page insteadYou can do this already, although it is not covered in the docs because I rather users use the Customizer since it is point and click with a live preview.
There are two shortcode options
image_fallbackandtray_image_fallback. Theimage_fallbackoption will affect the image in the upper image and thetray_image_fallbackwill affect the image in the bio area. Add the options to the existing shortcode like so:[connections image_fallback="type" tray_image_fallback="type"]
The valid options for
typeare:noneblock:: Empty block with no image found text.photologo
Points to keep in mind:
- These options will affect to both the results list view and the single entry view, so, if you use the Customizer to display different images in both views, in one of the views the fallback image will be the default image set in the Customizer. Hope that makes sense.
- These options will override the “placeholder” checkbox option in the Customizer for the Image and the Bio Tray Image.
re: My guess is that everyone using cMap who has a mixture of organisations and individual listings is going to have this problem.
Yes, but, in my experience, this type of setup is rare. The only real solution I can see in this usage case would be to display the logo/photo based on entry type which is not something that I plan on integrating into a template because it’ll add a lot of complexity very few will use. If course the simple work around in this scenario is to load the image into the field so it display where you want regardless if the image is a logo or photo.
Or, just thought of this… you could rename the fields using the Say What? plugin to be more descriptive to the image placement rather the image type.
Hope that helps!

Just to make sure we’re on the same page… You wish to show the logo on the results list (summary page) and display the photo on the single entry (detail page) uploading the images into the correct fields when adding the entry, correct? If so, you can already do this, here’s how.
- Navigate to the Connections Templates admin page.
- Click the Customize button for the cMap template.
- The page will reload with the Customizer on the left and a preview on the right.
- Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
- Click the Image panel.
- Choose Logo for the Image Type to display (adjust any other image related settings while you’re here).
- Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
- Click the Bio Tray Image panel. YOu may or may not wish to change the settings, now is a good time to do it.
- Important, click an entry name in the Preview. Any entry will do.
- The Preview will refresh displaying the single entry (detail page).
- Important, make your image settings changes, as applicable, again, ie. Change the Image Type to Photo. Why? The settings for the results list (summary page) and single entry (detail page) are configured separately so they can be configured differently.
Hope that helps!
