re It has turned off the category title but not the directory title!
That is the page title that you gave the page. Connections has no way to turn off the page title. Sometimes themes have the ability. Check the theme settings.

re: I have turned off the Category Index in the setting but it still shows on the category page.
You mean the Character Index correct?
I randomly visit various category pages in your directory. It seems to show only on the Business Directory – All page. My guess is you used the shortcode option to turn it on. Like I mentioned in my previous reply, you need to remove the show_alphaindex shortcode option from the shortcode on that page.
re: the title on the category page is the category + the title of the business directory. I would like it only be the category and remove the words Business Directory – which template file can I alter?
Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the SEO tab. Disable the page title option.
Hope this helps!

Ok, read this tutorial, it covers how to create custom template override files which are update safe.
Open the
card.phpfile found in this folder:
../wp-content/plugins/connections-circled/Add this line of code to line 99
$entry->getPhoneNumberBlock();You will likely have to adjust the CSS so it looks good, but that should be it.
Hope that helps!

Ok, try a search now. Should work. All I did was click Save Settings on the Connections : Settings admin page for the Search tab. Seems like for some reason the values were not being read or something. Odd, I’ve never seen that happen before.

Hmm sounds like it was somehow messing with the parser because apostrophe should be just fine… unless it was not escaped and you were using single quotes in your CSV file. That would probably kill the parse because the file would not be valid. All speculation.
Great to hear you figured out the issue and were able to resolve it.

Try updating to the latest version. Sounds like you might have an old version installed, pre licenses and in admin updates. You can find you downloads on your purchase history page under the Downloads tab.
To manually update, deactivate and delete the CSV Import extension and then install it as you would as you other plugin.
Hope this helps, let me know.

This is correct. The short contact info can only be configured to display email and social media. In order to display the email, the template would have to be edited. Is this something you feel comfortable doing? IOf so, I can provide some direction. Let me know.

re: So is every company a custom post type?
Sorry, no, Connections does not use a CPT for its entries. Rather it uses custom tables with a schema optimized for directories for performance and scalability.
re: Is it possible to integrate it with a membership plugin? So this way the company can claim the listing and add their own info to it.
There is no specific integration with membership plugins, but many users do use Connections in combination with membership plugins in order to a monetize their site. Where access to the directory is one of the membership benefits. There is no “claim a listing” type of feature. You can use Link and, optionally Form, to allow you members to submit and maintain their entry in the directory.
I hope I have answered your questions thoroughly!
