    @ Bruno

If you still have access to the old site, deactivate the license on that site and then activate it on your new site. If you do not have access you can still manage you license site activation. Please see this FAQ on how to manage your license when activate on another site.

Hope this helps, let me know.

Have set a directory home page?

Are all the Connections addons, extensions and templates up to date?

    Can you please try:

Also, it is possible the memory allocated to PHP is being exhausted. The Customizer does require more resources.

Here’s is a blog post which covers several ways to increase the memory. Which method will work depends on the web host. My suggestion is to start at the top of the list an work your way down.

Please let me know the results.

Thanks for making the setting change. I need to see the results in the defaults configuration which is why I’ve asked. In addition, those only work under specific scenarios. In fact most end up breaking a working config by changing them… so I’m very likely going to remove those options completely.

    Back on topic…

I noticed you said you have Maps Marker installed. Another user the other day experienced this exact same issue, but with a much older version of cMap. I was unable to replicate the issue on my test site with Maps Marker so I attributed the issue to the old version of cMap and advised that he upgrade it. At this point I have not heard back from him to see if that helped or not.

Now that the settings are back at their default, can you please temporarily deactivate Maps Marker to see if that fixes the issue? Let me know the results, thanks!

re: Google Maps API v3 is enabled.

Thanks! Now, re-enable the “Javascript” option that is right below the Google Maps API v3 option. Does that fix it?

re: I cannot seem to find it in the WordPress Plugins Repository

Not all plugins are in the repository, there are many “premium”, better defined as “commercial” plugins not in the wp.org. Connections is free and in the repository only because I can make just enough to live on by selling the add ons.

re: so, it made me wonder whether it imports your actual code? (Is that even legal?)

I would venture a guess, no, it does not actually import my code or any other plugins code. Reading over it… it appears all it does is provide a user interface to add third party (ie. Connections) shortcodes to its interface that simply inserts shortcodes into a page.

Is this legal, sure, I see no reason it would not be. The plugin is visual page builder. There are actually quite a few of them for WP, some are built into themes such as Divi.

Here’s a free alternative for example (no endorsement, just the first results in my Google search)

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/live-composer-page-builder/

Personally, I do not care for them because they sort of lock your content to them (kind of necessary, really) and add quite a bump in server resources used (which can be mostly negated with a good caching plugin such as WP Rocket), they can also be quirky causing weird little compatibilty issues, but, I definitely see the appeal of such a tool.

Here’s are a few good links discussing visual page builders. I would consider them a good read before your start using one.

    hope that helps!

Yes, I see that the Google Maps API v3 is disabled. It needs to be enabled or the maps will not work. Please enable it.

I just visited the page, the links seems to work fine. I’m guess you found the solution?

The one thing I did notice, It appears the Google Maps API option was disabled on the Connections : Settings admin page under the Advanced tab. I highly recommend enabling that option (it’s enabled by default) otherwise the maps in the template are not going to work.

    Hope that helps!

    @ Jennifer

I can view the link, it requires a login.

But I guess I still do not understand. The demo site and the screenshot still look the same to me. Each category is on its own line, its just that the category names are so long that they wrap into two lines. I do no see any commas…

or is that the point? They want it on the “same” line (even though it’ll line wrap) separated by commas. Is that correct? If that is, there’s no way to do that easily.

The code above would put commas in between categories if there were more than one of the child_of categories assigned to the entry within one of the child_of categories.

Judging by the screenshot, each instance of the code, only one child_of category is assigned to each of the child_of categories. There’s no easy way to “combine” the result of both the child_of category results separated with commas. Boy… I hope that makes sense!

The only other though I have to to register a new custom Link type, say “Active Website” and then added a custom filter which render the a clickable link or static text based on whether it is a “Website” link or an “Activate Website” Link type. Hope that make sense!

“out of the box”, sorry, no. That said, with a custom coded solution, then, yes, Connections could be setup to power your Participant List too. If you are interested, I do provide custom coded Connections solution, please contact me using the Contact link at the very bottom of the page for a quote.
