    You really should not have directly edited the database. If the directory entries had an email address that matched exactly the WP User (assuming these are your authors and they are the actual authors of the posts as far as WP is concerned). The only thing that needed to happen was to have your authors log out and log back in so the entry and user would be linked. Authored would have just worked.

    With the direct edits to the db, I’m unsure what the exactly solution would be. I would suggest having your authors log out and back in. That may be enough to correct the issue.

    You can see which directory entry is linked to which WP user on the Connections : Manage admin page. It will be displayed on the far right of the table row. If there is no indication, then that entry is not linked to a user.

    I’m not sure I can even guess what the cause would be. It sounds like the error message is a WordPress error message. Perhaps somehow it is permissions related.

    Why it would this affect only old vs new would be a mystery because from a Connections code perspective there is literally no distinction. In code there is no difference between and old and new category. I’m fairly certain the code Connections Categories has not really changed in regards to adding/editing since its release a decade ago.

    The only thing I can think of is to make sure Connections is fully up to date along with any addons that may be installed.

    Deactivate all plugins except Connections to see if the issue still persists.

    You could try force resetting the core Connections role capabilities.

    Not sure what else to suggest. Maybe it is somehow triggering a mod_security rule the web host has put in place???

    Navigate to your purchase history page. I believe under the Licenses tab you will find and View Upgrade Options link for your purchase of the Extension Pro Pack. You will have options to upgrade to one of the multiple site licenses for the Extension Pro Pack and the Pro Pack.

    Each bundle has an optional multiple site license option. Often devs will purchase the Pro pack with the Unlimited site license.

    Your timezone is the problem… your are definitely not in the UTC+0 timezone. The timezone for Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada is Central Standard Time which is UTC-6. You should really set the timezone to a city that is within the CST timezone vs using the actual UTC offset.

    The directory requires a login so I can not see.

    Are you using a caching plugin?

    Can you attach a screenshot showing the open hours while editing an entry?

    RE: Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

    That is a WordPress error. YOu’ll have to correct the file permissions in order so WordPress has the correct permissions to copy/overwrite files.

    RE: I have made some mods in a few files.

    If you modded files in the core Connections plugin, you will lose whatever mods you have made.

    RE: Should I sftp to the plugins directory?

    That is the only way I know of to recursively adjust folder file permissions. So, yes.

    RE: Is there an order to upgrading? Upgrade the plugins first and then connections plugin?

    Yes, you should first upgrade the core Connections plugin before upgrading any of it extensions. Just in case an extension requires a newer version of Connections that what is installed.

    It seems to be working correctly. YOu need to test while not logged in. While logged in, you are the admin, your submissions will not be moderated.

    Look in the upper right of you page. You’ll find this “MailChimp Subscriber Popup”

    Whatever this is, my best guess is that this is breaking some javascript on the page which I think is break some of the Form functionality.

    Please try removing it. Let me know after you have done so and I will take another look.
