I just emailed you a slightly updated version of your template, it’ll be compatible with the Legacy Template installer on the bottom of the Connections : Templates admin page. After you install and activate the template edit the page where you have the Connections shortcode and remove the custom_template=’true’ template_name=’card-waaesdorg’ options as they are no longer required.

I do suggest upgrading to the cMap template as it is similar. Why, the legacy template support will be removed at some point in time too, probably in a year and a half — roughly.

Looks like I have received an email from you with the template attached. I’ll take a close look later this afternoon and get back to you. But from a cursory glance, this is a template I did for you back on 1/31/2010. This, legacy, legacy, [yes two legacy’s] template format support was removed from Connections last October, I believe. Only the previous format and the current plugin format are currently supported. So neither of the install template installation methods will work with this template.

Truth be told, time is the limiting factor … things are going well enough by Labor Day I should be going full time. I’ve formed my LLC and taking the steps to setup a proper business.

The core changes I’m making are not only to support Locate properly, but to support the other three dozen or so add-ons I have planned, a few of which I just recently put up as coming soon.

Items holding back Locate are that I need to develop a geocode cache API, a query results cache API and a JSON API for Connections. The core features will be needed not only to support Locate but a several other add-on as well. Sounds like a lot, but doing this full time, should take less than a month. Depends if I get sidetracked, like I just did rushing to better improve the SEO of Connections.

I could just rejigger my tech demo from a year ago and call it a day and it would work, and probably work well, but I’d rather build it atop of the API/s I mentioned.

I know this doesn’t help you now and probably not soon enough but when I get to it, I’ll definitely ping you to beta test.

You need to grant the “View Admin Menu” capability. Other notes …

Giving the Subscriber role add/edit capabilities means that they will be able to edit any entry and add unlimited number of entries if the “View Admin Menu” and “View Manage” capabilities are granted. I would only grant them add/edit if you’re using Link to allow the subscriber to edit their own entry.

“Add Entry Moderated” is a lesser capability than “Add Entry” you do not need to grant both, just one or the other. Same for the edit entry capabilities.

The database is fine, I believe this issue is related to a timezone issue as I can not replicate it. I’m certain this issue popped up because the dates can now be properly internationalized.

Another user resolved the issue by manually setting the timezone with this function: date_default_timezone_set

They’ve kindly given me access to the server and site so I can debug this.

As for putting the date in as 9999 … the upcoming list calculates the next date, not the actual date. For example lets say a persons birthday occurs in April, since it is now June, the birthday will show up as the date in April 2014. Conversely, if the person’s birthday is in July, it will show up with a 2013 date in July.

Closing …

Both RealtyPress and the Lizatom Shortcodes WordPress Plugin make this unresolveable. CSS hacks can be used to hide the extra p and br tags being inserted.
