Right now, this is not possible. I am considering adding this feature as it really would only take a few lines of code to accomplish. Of course the CSV would have to contain an ID column matching the ID of the entry in Connections.
The primary reason I have not is because there would be a rather large caveat. The address, phone, email, dates, link, social networks and IM data types would actually be wiped, not updated. The reason is there is not really an effective way to determine if it the new data is actually new or just an update because each entry can effectively have an unlimited number of each. Well, technically, this could be overcome, but that would require the CVS to contain the unique ID of each one of those data types for each field that data type supports.

Currently the only way to add additional links is to edit the class.options.php file. If you do make this change, you will lose them after a plugin update, so you will have to reapply the changes.
As for changing the text labels, I suggest using the Say What? plugin.
It’ll add a new Text Changes menu item. Click Add New, enter the string exactly as shown in Connections, enter connections [notice the lack of capitalization, that's important!] as the domain and then enter your new text.
The great thing about using this plugin is that it will be update safe and you can use it on any other plugin that has been properly internationalized.
Hope that helps.

The issue was the CSV file. The header columns were quoted, I don’t think that would have caused the issue. But, there was no header for a column, which I think might have confused the CSV parser. I’ve attached a corrected CVS file which I confirmed imported correctly … I did change the column headers to the names so they would auto map.

Sorry, but this is how WordPress handles translations with all plugins, this is not a limitation with Connections. If you want to use the French translation, you need to be using the French translation of WordPress. I am confused as to why you would want only Connections and not the entire WordPress admin in French …
The best suggestion I can give you is to try this plugin:

http://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/edu/wordpress/wordpress-features/change-dashboard-languageI just tried it myself and it seems to work fine for switching between languages.
I hope that helps.

I just literately uploaded an update, version 1.0.4, which you can download from your purchase history. I do not believe the update will resolve the problem because it only contains some very minor tweaks and it actually sounds like a bad CSV file. But can you please update and give it a try. Also, can you attach a copy so I can take a look?

Aplogies! This is the first time I’m trying to use snippets as a solution. Obviously I’m not thinking this thru completely. I’m going to work on refining the snippet some more. I’ll get back to you shortly.

Alrighty … let me know if you encounter the issue again. I’ll leave the issue open for now.
