Hmmm… yeah, that is an oversight on my part. There is not a way to “clear” a character filter after one is clicked. I’ll see what can be added to Connections for the next update due out by the end of the month. Right now, the only suggestion that I can think of is to add a link above the shortcode on the page that links to the same page. That will “clear” any searches/filters.
Adding a “You are currently searching within…” notice with an all clear link is on the to do list. I don’t think that will make the next update though.
I will not be changing the ability to filter by character within a category however. There are many other users which have 10’s of thousands of entries within Connections so filtering by character within a category is an absolute necessity.
Hope that helps.

Ok, I did know you were using Form … Form is for just site visitors to leave moderated/non-moderated submissions into the directory. You’ll need to have the users submit their entry using the Edit My Directory Entry admin profile page, not with Form. Existing users, when they login will be linked to their entry the next time they login and will be able to edit their entry.
Now, Form 2.0 and Link 2.0 will work together. Form 2.0, which was rewritten from scratch, by itself will have front-end editing for the users that have the appropriate permissions in addition to taken directory submissions from site visitors. And when Link 2.0 is installed with Form 2.0, the user will be able to submit and maintain their entry from the front-end using Form. I’m targeting the end of the month for their release with the next version of Connections, version 0.8 which is a massive update. Until then my suggestion is not to use Form. Use Link instead, that’ll accomplish what you need.

Which template? If it is one of the premium templates there is a simple shortcode option that can be used. If using one of the core templates, you’ll have to make a PHP code edit.

No, the CSV import does not do any validation to attempt to identify an existing entry. It’ll simply import as a new entry. I do have a beta version which includes experimental entry updating … mostly it just overwrites. The CSV file would have to have an Entry ID column and this ID would have to be the ID as shown on the Connections : Manage admin page for each entry in the CSV file.
I hope that answers your question.

That’s great to hear! Odd though that they were off by default as they should default to on. I haven’t encountered that before (that I can recall).

Good to hear it is working. That does sound like a lot memory. I usually configure for 256M. This site has over 80 active plugins but still only takes less than 55M of memory. And that is with a “heavy” theme.

Sound like you are looking for the Link extension. This add-on will link a user account with an entry within Connections to allow them to maintain their own entry with or without moderation.
I hope that helps.

I browsed around for quite while; seems to work fine. When you get a no results and changing categories, do you have a search term entered? If you do, you will be filtering by the term and the category. So if you switch a category with a search term you will still be filtering by that term and if that term is not within the current category selection you will get no results.
I hope that helps.
