Sorry, I am not sure I follow? Do you mean when they are displayed on the site’s frontend in the template? If that is the case, the only way to do that would be edit the template to show such labels which would be a somewhat involved solution requiring you to know PHP intermediately well.

This can be done pretty easily, see this QuickTip. This basically would only affect the admin add/edit entry form though.

In short… if you want a template which matches exactly the screenshot you attached, a custom template would have to be created in order to do so. And I do not believe any templates that are currently available will satisfactory meet your design concerns. So maybe Connections will not be a solution for you.

The one part I do not quite follow and need a bit more detail on…

The phone field supports free-text; it is not limited to just numbers or a particular number format. This design decision was on purpose to allow a wide range of input. That said, why not just enter number 123-555-1212 ext 123? This is how I’m am familiar with seeing such info on business cards and such.

It’s the only way I can think of doing it. You can try using this script to do the export. This is not a plugin, it is a separate PHP script. It has a rather complicated setup, instruction in the txt file, but should work very well. It is going to be the base of the export that will be built into Connections.

There is none. The image name and meta data for the logo and photo are save in the the options column in the main {db-prefix}_connections table.

There is an image and logo column. They are binary values 0 or 1. It used used to determine if the image/logo is link to a “Link” url.

Change I’ve made to the image processing in version 8.1 will make this possible in future version of Connections… I’m just not quite there yet. If you can get the image name in the options column of the entry and you can get the image in the uploads folder, Connections will pick it up and use it. The folder path has to be precise though. Example:

../wp-content/uploads/connections-images/{entry-slug}

The entry slug will only be known after it is imported, much like the entry ID it is unique and created when inserted into the db.

Sorry, no, cMap can not be be displayed in a columnar format because it as not designed to be displayed that that. Perhaps setting a max-width will be a good alternative? Add the following to the theme’s custom CSS area:

#cn-cmap {
  max-width: 800px;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

You can use the show_empty_categories shortcode option to hide empoty categories. For it work work, the Uncategorized category has to be completely empty, meaning if unlisted or private entries are assigned to it or unapproved entries are assigned to it, it is not empty show it will show.

The parent category can not be hidden without hiding the children categories and hiding the parent category will also hide any entries assigned to it and its children categories.

This is not being caused by Connections, it is the way the theme is designed… I’ll try to explain.

The effect is because of the way the theme has styled the background image. The image will “stretch” based on the page content height. Since the Connections page is the longs the effect is more pronounced. You can see the effect on other pages of you site too. For example:

• Compare the home page with the Other Events page in tabs open side by side. The home page will have stretched the image more than the Other Events page because the home page is longer.
• Go to the FAQs page. Toggle the various FAQs, you’ll notice how the image will “stutter” when one faq is closed and the other is opened.

To avoid the image being skewed and distorted based on the browser window size add the following to the theme’s custom CSS area:

body.custom-background {
  background-size: initial !important;
}

You could also try this instead:

body.custom-background {
  background-size: contain !important;
}

Ok, you’re all fixed up. There’s new plugin installed on the site called Code Snippets. This has a code snippet which will run if both Stack and Connections are active. When run, it will enqueue the theme’s older version of the picturefill library. Connections will merrily go on its way loading the current’ish version it requires.

The pagination option are only available to the templates sold here if that template supports pagination.

If you do not enter info in the field, it is not shown. That said some templates will not display info even if info is entered. Most of the template sold here allow you to turn on/off fields via shortcode options if there is info entered for the field.

Use a template which support filtering by category and enter your entries assigned to the categories.

No, other users use membership plugins to manage memberships and whether or not they have access to the directory.
