First, you should give these a read so you can learn how to make these changes in an update safe way.

To add the you need to edit edit the
card.phpfile found here:../wp-content/plugins/connections-circled/You can copy the code from the
card-single.phpfile found in the same folder. This is the code you want to copy/paste:
$entry->getPhoneNumberBlock( array( 'format' => $atts['phone_format'] , 'type' => $atts['phone_types'] ) ); $entry->getEmailAddressBlock( array( 'format' => $atts['email_format'] , 'type' => $atts['email_types'] ) );Hope that helps!

re: So it can be customized to look like this?
Yes, but the changes they made are not supported . Meaning, what they did are not options. They edited the template’s CSS and PHP template file. If you are comfortable doing that, the changes should be fairly simple to do. If you are not, I do provide custom development services. I could create a version that matches that site. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you a quote.
re: are the search and category dropdown features included with this?
Yes, they are, there are off by default. The doc page has instructions on how to enable those features.

Oh, no I see…
Technically this is possible but this requires editing a PHP file for the template. The file name is
cmap.phpThe file can be found here:../wp-content/plugins/connections-cmap/Goto line 543 and insert this (so it becomes line 544):
'include' => array(2,3),The numbers will be the category ID/s.
The entire block of code should look like this after the edit:
$atts = array( 'default' => self::$atts['str_select'], 'select_all' => self::$atts['str_select_all'], 'type' => self::$atts['enable_category_multi_select'] ? 'multiselect' : 'select', 'group' => self::$atts['enable_category_group_by_parent'], 'show_count' => self::$atts['show_category_count'], 'show_empty' => self::$atts['show_empty_categories'], 'parent_id' => self::$atts['enable_category_by_root_parent'] ? self::$atts['category'] : array(), 'exclude' => self::$atts['exclude_category'], 'include' => array(2,3), );In regards to the apostrophe or lack of in the shortcode…
This depends on the shortcode option settings value. The WordPress shortcode parser support single quotes
', double quotes"and no quotes for shortcode option value IF that value is a single “word” (alphanumeric string with NO spaces). So, that said, all of the following are equivalents:[connections category=2 enable_category_by_root_parent=true] [connections category='2' enable_category_by_root_parent='true'] [connections category="2" enable_category_by_root_parent="true"]This one would not work correctly:
[connections category=2,3 enable_category_by_root_parent=true]It would need to be either:
[connections category='2,3' enable_category_by_root_parent=true] [connections category="2,3" enable_category_by_root_parent=true]There are more thing you can get away with, but generally you are better off quoting the option values as that is the safest reliable way to do it.
Hope that helps!

re: That’s bad news. I will have to switch to a different BL plug-in. :(
If you find one that allows URL/s like the setup you want, please share because I would love to see how they worked around the WordPress Rewrite API rules. Honestly though, the URL/s generated by Connections for its entries are pretty good SEO links.
re: I searched the support and faq area for instructions or a module to properly EXPORT my ~4000 entries … but couldn’t find any info. Any suggestions on how to handle that part?
There is no export yet. That is planned for later this summer. You have two options presently. Use phpMyAdmin (or similar) and export the tables from your db as CSV files. You can then open them into Excel as a single workbook and use a VLOOKUP (I think) formula to link the data from the various CSV files from the export from mphpMyAdmin. Another option is to use this script. It is not a plugin but a standalone PHP script. Its setup is rather complicated but it works. It’s going to be the base on which the CSV Export feature in Connections is going to be upon. The trouble with the script is that you have 4000+ entries. Depending on you host, you may or may not being able to export them all before you exceed your hosts PHP limitation.
Hope that helps.

Using CSS is probably the easiest solution presently. Add the following to the theme’s custom CSs area:
#cn-card span.cn_category_label, #cn-card span.cn_category, #cn-card span.address-name { display: none !important; }That should hide them.
Hope that helps!
PS> The Template Customizer feature coming in the next update will make this an interactive point and click setting. If you are familiar with the Theme Customizer, it works the exact same way. It is working quite well and I can wait to release this update as this is one feature that will really highlight just how configurable Connections is.

The issue is the
index.phpin your permalink setup. Go to the WordPress Permalinks admin page and remove that. After you do, things should work fine.Steven Zahm

Sorry, no, link clicks are not tracked. If you a developer, using the new Logging API in Connections building something like this should be too involved. Hope that answers your question.

Go to the Connections : Settings admin page and go to the Images tab. Change the size of the medium image. That will affect the size of the image used in the template.
Hope that helps!
PS. Also, I highly suggest using the Default Entry Card template. One it’s responsive theme friendly. Two, the next update of Connections will be removing that template. It load the Default Entry Card template instead.

re: Is this using the circled template add on below?
Yes, that site is using the Circled template, however, they have customized it quite a bit.
The demo page is representative of what it looks like unmodified.
http://connections-pro.com/demo/template/circled/re: If so, can this also display birthday and anniversary dates?
The dates, anniversary and birthday, will be shown on the profile page not on the results page.
re: Also, is it possible to import a list of staff members with this add on?
No, the template does not support importing. However, the CSV Import addon is available and is used to do bulk imports.
http://connections-pro.com/add-on/csv-import/I hope that answers your questions thoroughly!

Here’s how…
Assuming category ID 2 for the “Individual” category and ID 3 for the “Family” category. Change the IDs according to what they are for you as shown on the Connections : Category admin page.
Create a new page for Individuals and use this shortcode:
[connections category=2 enable_category_by_root_parent=true]Create a new page for Families and use this shortcode:
[connections category=3 enable_category_by_root_parent=true]Hope that helps!
