    @ MichFM

Is the template Profile Entry Card active now on your site? The page does not seem to be loading. Is that the issue you are experiencing?

Can you go to the Connections : Tools admin page and click the System Info tab, scroll to the bottom and generate a temp remote view URL and share it with me?

re: most said you walk on water

    lol, not really :)

re: Each club can only update their information. Or there might be one person entering 20 different clubs information.

Editing can be done on a one to one relationship. One registered WP user can edit one (their linked) entry in Connections. Put another way, a user can not be limited to edit a limited set of entries. Does that answer that question?

re: Can each club be responsible for their events.

Event management… well, Connections has no way of adding or managing events for entries so if that is required then I have to say that Connections will not meet your requirements, sorry.

re: How can I make him appear first, but allow everyone else to follow alphabetically?

You have a couple options… you could use the order_by shortcode option, sorting manually by Entry ID like shown in the second example on the doc page.

Another option, but a bit more complete use of the order_by shortcode option and ordering by a custom meta field. Here’s a link to how to set that up.

    Hope that helps!

re: Does the CMap plugin enable you to make more than one template?

How do you mean? You can use the template one more than one page if you want. Is this what you mean?

re: Or you just get the one CMAap template added to the available templates?

Yes, the template is added only once to the available templates because it can only be installed once.

If you can give me more info on what you wish to accomplish, I can let you know if you can do it and give guidance and how.

The strings you see in the drop down when adding them to an entry are the exact strings…

    • AIM
    • Yahoo IM
    • Jabber / Google Talk
    • Messenger
    • Skype
    • ICQ

Is this a feature request? Sorry, but there is not a shortcode available to do this.

Great to hear! Just for future reference… It is always a good idea to update Connections before you update any of its template and extensions because they might depend on new features and code in the core Connections plugin.

re: I downloaded the latest Connections but WordPress Plugins would not let update. Installation failed.

How did it fail… what were the error messages? Or was “Installation failed.” the error message?

re: Do I need to delete the previous version before updating?

No, this should not be necessary.

re: Now I can’t login to the site

Since you can not login into the WordPress admin your only option is to login in to your site via FTP. You’ll have to ask your web host if you do not know how to.

After you log into the site with FTP, navigate to this folder:
    ../wp-content/plugins/

The connections folder will be in the ../wp-content/plugins/ folder.

Delete the connections folder. Be very careful and make sure to delete only this folder or you could delete stuff you really do not want to delete.

You data is safe, it will not be deleted by deleting this folder.

No you should be able to log into your WordPress admin.

You can now install Connections again and everything should be fine.

Hope that helps, let me know.
