Based on these questions and the other in the other thread, I’m thinking you might be better served with BuddyPress. You would use BuddyPress to create communities. You can also find many free and premium extensions for it so it might be possible to create what you want.

That is correct, that is a standard supported by all browsers and WordPress for quite some time. It is a protocol relative URL. This allows the asset to be loaded over either http or https without browser throwing mixed content warnings.

So, in short, this is not a bug with Connections. It is a bug in WP Minify not properly supporting assets that were enqueued with protocol relative URLs. If WP Minify has an option to exclude files, then I suggest try adding this file as an exclusion. The assets loaded by Connections are already minified anyway.

Double quotes are a CSV standard and must be used in certain circumstances according to the standard. If Excel (which has a history of spotty CSV file support) is displaying the quotes, it is because it is not properly parsing the file. I highly recommend using Google Doc Spreadsheet or LibreOffice Calc when working with CSV files because they can more reliable read standard CSV file.

ps. If Excel ask when opening the file what the enclosure is, choose the double quotes and choose the comma for the delimiter.

Well, the short answer would be no. This is because there is no template available that is exactly as you have mocked up. The closest is the Gridder template. If you know some basic PHP you could alter the template to match your mockup closer. If you do not, I do provide custom developed solutions for Connections. If that interests you, let me know.

It seems that another plugin is altering the img tag for the back to top link. My best guess it’s the Jetpack Photon plugin. Unfortunately I do not think there is anything I can do to fix it since it is being changed by another plugin.

Sorry, no, Connections does not take payments at this time. Other users use a membership plugin like Restrict Content Pro and sell memberships to their site which the directory is only one part of the membership benefits.

Sounds like an extension that was installed in Firefox was blocking the icons. Firefox is likely fine, uninstall any extensions that may have been installed.

Looks like you are missing the period (.). The string needs to be exact or it will not match and will not be replaced.

Go back to directory.
