Ok, it was not what I thought it was, not even close. The latest version of EE4 dequeued jquery-form. You see it in their change set here. I think it has to do with that we both enqueue a third party library jquery-validate but with different dependencies and when they dequeue jquery-form it takes the dependencies with it so the proper scripts are not being loaded on the page which in turn stops the page from functioning correctly.

I do not see a simple solution other than commenting out their change in their code which I have done. The registrations seems to work fine now. I was able to submit one without any errors. Give it a test.

There seems to be something broken on your site in regards to the core WordPress plugin update checks. I say this because it seems that every page load by your visitors causes the get latest version check. This is likely causing a slight performance hit to your site since these requests happen on every page load. But it really affecting my site because your site will ping my site thousands of times over the course on a couple days. I am willing to look into this if you will allow? Are the accesses you gave me still valid?

Can I get an admin login? There’s only been one major change in Connections and that has been the the inclusion of the WP REST API (like JetPack) and initial support for the directory categories endpoint. What I’ll do is hotpatch to remove the inclusion on those files to see if that resolves the issue. I do not see how that would interfere but this is just my best guess and honestly not a great one.

In order for me to be able to debug I’ll need to be able to replicate the the error in order to determine the cause.

I visited you site and I was unable to locate those two pages. Could you provide some direct links so I can take a look?

Yep, it’s working. See the attached screenshot. I highlight the encrypted email addresses.

    Hope that helps!

ps, if you are viewing the source in the Chrome Console Source tab, the script to decrypt is still being run by Chrome. Hit CTRL+U to view the page source tab of the page.

re: I have connections, links, form and login plugins all installed. New people register for the site, then create their directory entry. This works. But they are unable to edit their own entry.

My first suggestion, please ensure the configuration for Link is done exactly as outlined in the configuration instructions. Make sure you new users are set to be subscribers after they register. The actual user role when the user registers doesn’t really matter but it simplifies the configuration.

Also, take note of the tip about Form in the configuration instructions, that can be very important.

re: upon log in, they are presented a link for their wp profile, and a link for their directory entry.

Obviously I am not able to see this… but if you are using the Connections Login widget to display these links, go to the widget configuration and disable the “Display the user profile link?” option. If the user profile link is being displayed by something else other than the Connections Login widget, you’ll have to turn it off in the plugin or theme displaying the link provided there is such an option.

Hope that helps, let me know.

When you copy/paste, make sure to do it in the editor’s Text tab, not the Visual tab. Perhaps that is how it is happening.

Great to hear you got it to work! How were those numbers being added, never seen that before?
