    @ cori

Add enable_pagination='FALSE' to the existing shortcode on the page. That will turn off pagination.

    Hope that helps!

    @ Candace

Yes, since these imported as individual the only way to change this is to manually edit them to organizations.

It sounds like it would be a lot quicker to delete the existing entries using the bulk delete action and then re-import the entries mapping them so they will be imported as organization.

After taking a quick look at you site and taking a guess at your CSV file contents.

Map the organization in the CSV file to the “Organization” field in Connections.
Map the first name in the CSV file to the “Contact First Name” field in Connections.
Map the last name in the CSV file to the “Contact Last Name” field in Connections.

Hope that helps, let me know.

re: I just started playing with it and after countless hours looking at documentation I couldn’t really find anything that explained how:
    1. to display the categories
    2. how to have the search bar appear

With the Gridder template, these features are off by default as noted on the product page and can easily be turned on.

Here is the link to the docs which gives detailed instructions turn on the search and category filter in Gridder.

re: Why is the thumbnail so low-res when I selected the smallest image to be displayed at 80×80 which is what those thumbnails are.

Here is the docs which explains how to control the grid image size.

re: I don’t want the grid to have the “show profile” bottom portion because none of my photos will link to a profile but rather to an external link. – How can I get rid of that?

This can be turned off, here’s the instructions to turn off the view profile link.

There’s a lot of good info in the docs for Gridder on this page and answers most questions on how to set it up.

    Hope this helps!

    @ dgalassi

re: I have created custom fields for a listing – and am needing these fields to show in the online public Connections Form for members to sign up. I am unclear how to get the custom fields to display on the initial input Connections form.

I guess my first question is how did you add the custom fields?

There are “Custom Fields” and “custom fields”. The nomenclature confusion originates with WordPress.

There is a “Custom Fields” metabox on the add/edit entry admin form. This metabox is not available in Connections Form because this is an admin type of feature.

Now, you can register “custom fields” with Connections and these will automagically be available in Form. Here’s a tutorial on how to register a text custom field.

Hope this helps, let me know.

re: also which template were you referring to?

Well, you wrote this in the cMap support forum, so I supposed the cMap template. Really though, it does not matter, all templates will output the same categories because they all use the same code to do so.

re: if a change is made to it is it futureproofable?

No, not this change. If an update is released to a template with this change, the change will be lost and will need reapplied.

re: Another option could be to remove “show all categories” from the select menu. Is this possible.

You could use CSS to hide the hide it, I think, but chances are that when you add new categories you would have to adjust the CSS.

    @ antonella

re: in my cMap the first line of the Card for an entry, instead of the label “Work” appearing next to the field contents it appears above and the data – which shouldmatch the rest of te entry, is in the label’s font.

No, that is correct, see the sample on the product page.

The address labels appear above because addresses are multiple lines whereas the other are single line. So it does not look correct when putting the label on the same line as the street address.

    Hope that helps!

    @ Leah

You have the Contact extension activated. One of the primary features is to suppress the output of the email addresses in order to make them all private so site visitors have to use the contact form to email a directory entry.

So, if you wish to display them, deactivate the Contact extension.

    Hope that helps!

    @ dominic

Technically yes, but that would require a code change in the template so its not easily achievable.

Great to hear you figured that out. That’s a somewhat recent feature, being able to control the view order.
