Hard to know, my best guess is the other plugin should do an HTML entity decode when displaying the category name. If you share the other plugin code, I can probably pinpoint it fairly quickly.

yes, this can be done easily in the settings. Navigate to the Connections : Settings admin page and click the Advanced tab. Disable the option for the Name and Organization permalink options.
That should be it. Hope that helps!

Apologies I was not more clear! The new license key should work perfectly well with the version of Link presently installed regardless of version and whether it was purchased as part of the Pro Pack or not. This is why I asked which key you were using when attempting to activate Link. If you can let me know, that would be great. I can look into the activation logs.
To answer your question, yes, you can delete the version of Link you have installed and install the version you just downloaded as part of your new purchase as there is no difference between the two except for the new features and bug fixes in the newer version. Put another way, yes, you current links will be maintained.
Hope this answers your question without further confusion. Let me know.

RE: I purchased a new sigle license for Link. The license key is not working with the old Link and I get “Invalid license key”
You can use the new license key with the old installation of Link. Which license key are you trying to use to activate Link the new purchase?
RE: When using the License Renewal on the Link tab I am only getting to purchase the renewal for the whole Pro Pack.
That would be correct. You would have to renew the whole Pro Pack, you can not renew individual items within it. Purchasing a new license was the correct to do.

Sorry, there are no known rating plugins compatible with Connections.

This is possible but would require some code changes in order to support it. My schedule is a bit full the next couple weeks, but if you’re interested, we can schedule some time in order to have this added. Let me know.

RE: I there an option to set how many entries to view per/page?
Yes, with the cMap template (which you are using at the time of this reply):
- Navigate to the Connections : Templates admin page and click the Customize button for cMap.
- The page will refresh displaying the Customizer on the left with a preview on the right.
- Click the back arrow in the upper left of the Customizer.
- Click the Pagination panel.
- Change the number from 20 to 10.
- Click the Save and Publish button and then exit the Customizer.
RE: Also, Is there an option that will list the latest entries from top of the list on down. Currently, my entries are being listed in random order on the list.
Entries are displayed alphabetically by default. You can change the default sort order by using the order_by shortcode option. You’ll want to add either
order_by="date_added"ororder_by="date_modified"depending if modified entries should be moved to the top of the list or not.Hope that helps!

RE: Is there any way to use Connections to show a directory of just people with a certain role in WP?
Sorry, no, since directory entries are not WP Users.
RE: Is there a shortcode I can use to make a directory with only members with one of those roles and when a new person is added, they will automatically be included in the correct role after they submit their directory entry?
Sorry, no, for the same reason.
My suggestion … add your roles as categories in Connections. Update the entries so each entry is in the correct category (role). You can then use the category shortcode option to achieve these results.
Hope this helps!

Do you want to move the entire site or just the directory? If you wish to move the entire site, then I recommend a plugin like BackupBuddy or Duplicator. Moving the just the directory, you could export it as a CSV file (on the Connections : Tools admin page) and use the CSV Import extensions to import it to the new site. It can also be moved by copying the
../wp-content/uploads/connections-images/folder from the source to the destination and then using phpMyadmin to export and import the Connections tables. This is the method I personally use.As for showing two directories, yes it is possible by spitting them by category. Here’s FAQ for cMap which explains how. The same method works with all the premium templates.
Hope this helps!

Sorry, no. But in my opinion this is a good thing. I recommend you use a membership plugin like Restrict Content Pro to manage membership payments and renewals. This greatly increases your ability to monetize your site where a directory is just one benefit of the user’s membership. There are other directory plugins which do integrate payments, but then you lock yourself into only being able to monetize your directory making it very difficult to expand member benefits.
