    @ Rob

Navigate to your directory page, use the category dropdown to filter the directory by the category you want to add to the nav menu. Copy the URL from the browser’s address bar.

Now, navigate to the WP Menus admin page, click the Custom Links panel, paste in the URL you just copied, add the menu label (link text) and click the “Add to Menu” button.

Do this for each category that you wish to add to your site’s nav menu.

    Hope this helps!

    @ Lisa

Have you used Notepad to open the file to confirm that it is actually empty?

Navigate to the WordPress Permalinks settings admin page. Remove index.php from your permalink structure. This will make the permalinks structure compatible with Connections and improve the SEO of those links.

Hope that helps, let me know.

Please make sure the CSV file meets the requirements.

After you’ve done that, that a moment to read the tips. If the requirements and tips are followed there should not be an issue importing the file.

Also, please refer to the second paragraph in this FAQ as I think it is the reason you are not seeing items being imported:

One last suggestion if none of this works… If you have not upgraded Connections to version 8.11, please do so now. After the upgrade is complete navigate to the Connections : Settings tab and click the Betas tab. Opt into the CSV Import beta. Then navigate to the WordPress Updates admin page and click the Check Again button. Update to the beta version of CSV Import. It provides faster importing of large CSV files and more importantly more feedback during the import process. If CSV rows are skipped or failed it let you know and provide download links to CSV file which contain the skipped and failed rows.

Hope this helps! Let me know.

    @ Julie

The Custom Category Order extension does not order entries, it orders the categories. Take a look at the Category drop down on the Connections : Manage admin page and the Categories admin page. They will be in the defined ordered. If you would enable the category drop down in the Circled template, the categories in that drop down would also be in the defined order.

If you wish to specifically order entries, you need the Custom Entry Order extension.

Hope that helps, let me know

This occurs when your server can not talk to my server. Give a few hours and try again, it should be fine. Hope that helps, let me know.

ps. If you are trying to activate on a local machine, it could be your local firewall blocking communications.

Well, this took the better part of my day to track down. I narrowed the cause to Quform. That plugin unregisters a core WordPress javascript file (which is bad practice as it break other plugins) in which Connections Form requires. I had added a check in the core Connections plugin that checked if it was still registered or not and if it was not it would register it again. That was enough to correct the issue for you last time.

I suspect they made a change between last time and now which caused that fix to no longer work. I added an additional check to Form which should hopefully prevent this from happening again.

Another workaround that would have worked… on the QuForm admin settings page under the Performance tab if the “Combine JavaScript” option was disabled that would corrected it too. The reason is that Form would happily use the Quform version of the script that it loads. I suspect changing the “When to load…” option to “Auto” would have also corrected the issue but I did not test that.

Apologies for the trouble! If this does happen again in the future at least we know the first place to look now.
