    @ LindaK

That form is not related to Connections so it would be highly unlikely updating Connections is changing another plugin’s settings.

Perhaps it is just a coincidence… it is only noticed after you update Connections. Leave Connections on the current version for a few updates and randomly check that plugins settings. Specifically after that plugin rreceives and update.

Hopefully this helps. Let me know what you learn!

ps. I just checked the page again just before sending… it does not even appear Connections is installed on this site. Could you confirm?

The only real solution is to bulk delete the all entries and import again or manually delete the duplicates.

So this is anew one… what happened? You were in the middle of an import and the computer rebooted. When it started back up it open the browser and started a second import??? I not sure how that would even be possible.

Ok, you can reactivate. I wish I could share the results directly so you could see…

The directory page is in fact much faster with Connections deactivated. Load time is about 4 seconds But, I would expect that.

The events page is about 1.2 seconds faster when Connections is deactivated. That is a little higher than I typically see. This does vary. Sometime it loads quicker, sometimes it loads slower. But there seems to be a 1 second average.

It seems the web host is slower at processing pages with “larger” plugins seeing as the events page is not impacted much whether Connections is active or not.

Question. What version of PHP is running on the web host? You can find out by navigating to the Connections : Tools admin page and click the System Info tab. If it not PHP version 7.1, I very highly recommend that you ask the web host to upgrade that for you. WordPress and all plugins generally can receive 3-5x performance improvement. Many web host allow you to choose which version of PHP to run right within you control panel.

I would also recommend using WP Rocket. When combine with PHP 7.1, it can make you site substantially faster.

    Hope this helps!

The version of Form installed on your site is roughly 5 years out of date. It did contain a bug back then for a period where the URL for the CSS/JS had an extra slash. On some web hosts this did cause the files to fail to load. To get rid of the error you’ll either have to update Form or Deactivate if you are not using it.

I did a quick performance analysis of the directory page version the events page. As expected, they perform similarly with the directory page trailing a bit since there is more to load.

Could you deactivate Connections and its addons for a few minutes? I’d like to do the same comparason without it being loaded at all.

In testing Connections has a marginal impact on site load times. The only pages where there is a larger impact are the pages which display the directory entries; eg. the frontend pages with the Connections shortcode and the Connections : Manage admin page. But that is to be expected since those would be the locations where most of the Connections code is being run.

You attachments did not make it thru because the file sizes were too large. Can you please make the file size smaller and attach them to a reply. I’ll take a look but, in my experience, errors in the browser console are large coming from other plugins or the theme.

    OR

Instead of a screenshot, could you share a link to your directory page … that is far more helpful to me vs. screenshots.

Send the URL it generates as a private reply.

Connections Business Directory is a plugin, not a theme. Here’s the link to the quick start tutorial which includes the installation instructions.

    Hope this helps!
