Sorry to hear you are having trouble but looking at the page this seems to be unrelated to Connections or the 8.20 update. I suspect the issue was only noticed after the update but occured prior to it.

Please open the page in Chrome, hit the F12 key and then click the Console tab. There you will find to fatal JavaScript errors.

The first error is likely the root cause, jQuery is not defined....

My best guess this is due to your settings of caching and minification. Do not defer the loading of the JavaScript. What is happening is jQuery is being deferred, loaded last but is not available for a script, in your case a Tribe Events script, which is causing a fatal error which causing scripts to not run on your site, not just Connections.

The reason it works when you filter by category is because the JavaScript is not being combined and deferred. Which is the default behavior of your chosen caching plugin.

This is an advanced addon that I offer to those who have purchased the Extension Pro Pack or Pro Pack on request for self installation/configuration or as installation/configuration as a service for a fee. Depending on how familiar you are with shortcodes this addon can be quite challenging to configure. But if you are comfortable with working with shortcode it is not too bad.

The item in the changelog you are referencing are only links within Connections which resolve to this site and wp.org.

If you are speaking in regards to when you add a link URL address to an entry, Connections will prefix this the link with http:// if it was not provided. It does not prefix with https. I just double checked the code to make sure.

Perhaps another plugin in forcing the https???

Please try the plugin conflict check.

You would need the Custom Entry Order extension. To set an entry to display at the top, you would set the entry order to 1. To have an entry show second, after the entry assigned to 1 you would assign that entry the order of 2. If there is no entry assigned as 1, then the entry assigned 2 would actually be first.

That said, I would recommend setting order by 10’s or even 100’s. This will allow you the opportunity to insert entries in between others. For example having entries assigned orders of 100, 200 and 300 would display those entries in that order at the top. So you could insert an entry in between 100 and 200 by assigning the order as 150.

Well, there is the List widget included in the Widget Pack. It does not allow you to choose specific entries but it does allow you to choose a specific category. So, I suppose you could assign entries to a “Widget” category and then have the widget display only that category.

Connections does not accept payments for listings. I do not plan on adding such features. I recommend you use a membership plugin like Restrict Content Pro to manage membership payments and renewals. This greatly increases your ability to monetize your site where a directory is just one benefit of the user’s membership.

There are other directory plugins which do integrate payments, but then you lock yourself into only being able to monetize your directory making it very difficult to expand member benefits and further increase your opportunity to monetize.
