    @ deborah

Did you move you blog/host or anything like that? Change you database info in the wp-config?

The permissions for both the WP installs are very bad … I spent most my morning fixing them which fixed you blogs so they load correctly and faster.

fyi, I’ve just now turned on some debugging messages. I’ll turn these off again as soon as I’m finished.

Connections and its add-ons are designed to be compatible with any theme. My suggestion is find a template that you like that offers the feature you need to help you with launching your website.

Here is list of theme’s that have been identified to conflict with Connections, so I suggest steering clear of them.

    I hope that helps.

Thanks, I think I see the issue. I’m fairly certain the database upgrade had an error occur. I ca fix this, but I will need a temp admin account. You can post the details here, but please make sure to check the private reply box before posting the reply.

I still need to see this screen capture:

Can you attached a screen capture of the Connections : Manage admin page, specifically the upper right corner? What I am look to see is the values shown in all the drop downs and the All | Approved | Pending section.

Instead of creating a PDF can you use Print Screen instead? The key usually right by the F12 key. Then open Paint and Paste the screen capture from the clipboard. Make sure to save it as a JPG as a BMP will be too large to upload.

Good to hear you figured it out.

WordPress actually handles the parsing of the shortcode, Connections doesn’t do that, it just receives the values … more or less … so the order will not matter.

If you pasted in the shortcode from a webpage in the Visual editor but retyped it using the Text editor, that can and does make a would of difference. When pasting from a webpage into the Visual editor, the HTML from the webpage is also pasted. This messes with WordPress being able to correctly parse the shortcode and its options.

When the shortcode isn’t working, the solution is nearly always retyping it using the Text editor.

The entries are stored in the database just like your blog posts and pages in WordPress. It’s the safest place to store them.

0.7.1.6 was really old but there should not be an issue with upgrading.

Were there any errors shown in the output of the database upgrade?

    Are you running WordPress multi-site?

Can you attach screen captures of the Connections : Dashboard admin page, specifically the “System” widget?

Can you attached a screen capture of the Connections : Manage admin page, specifically the upper right corner? What I am look to see is the values shown in all the drop downs and the All | Approved | Pending section.

What can you do to get the entries back? That’s what we’re going to establish. I need details before I can even begin to offer a solution.

    @ Ann

Could you give more details on what you mean by “lost Connections. The plugin is gone”?

It sounds as if WordPress failed to upgrade it properly, maybe. If that is the case, you’ll likely have to log in to your site using FTP and delete the connections folder from within the plugins folder. After you do, you can simply install Connections as you did before. I hope that is helpful and gets you point in the right direction.

I sure everything is fine and there will be no need to re-enter anything.

Which version of Connections were you upgrading from? Were you requested to go thru a database update?
